STANLEY A. SEIDEL
Mr. Seidel enlisted in the United States Army on January 20, 1967. He was on active
duty for three years including one tour in Vietnam with the Fourth Infantry Division in
1968.
After his military service, he attended Union Community College in Cranford, New
Jersey. He transferred to Rutgers University and graduated in 1976 with a B.A. in
History.
Mr. Seidel was selected as the Director, Office of Operations and Programs, on
September 26, 1999. His responsibilities included line authority and overall supervision
of the Operations and Program staff including VETS field staff. Additionally, Mr. Seidel
provided day-to-day direction for the operation of the National Veterans’ Training
Institute for the development of training plans and needs of VETS staff as well as the
DVOPs and LVERs in the current service delivery systems.
Mr. Seidel voluntarily transferred back to the position of Director for Veterans’
EEmployment l andd TTraining ffor the h state off MMaryland l d in 2002 2002. BBesides d working k on dday-to
day operations, Mr. Seidel was also the Project Lead for an Incarcerated Veterans
Transition Program (IVTP) Demonstration Grants operated by the U.S. Department of
Labor. Mr. Seidel has also been involved in several projects to enhance the training of
VETS staff especially dealing with the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program
(HVRP) and the Veterans Workforce Investment Program.
