• Connie Aylward, Manager of Government Billing, TriHealth, Inc., has passed the certification exam to become a<br />
certified coding associate (CCA).<br />
• John Poe, Reimbursement Specialist, TriHealth, Inc., has passed the HFMA certification exam and become the<br />
Chapter’s newest Certified <strong>Healthcare</strong> <strong>Financial</strong> Professional (CHFP).<br />
• Mark T. Smith, joined Greene Memorial Hospital as the new VP of Finance and Operations on April 5, 2010.<br />
• Three area CFOs have been named finalists in the Cincinnati Business Courier’s annual “CFO of the Year” awards<br />

Spotlight on SWOHFMA Board Member –<br />
Renee George<br />
Renee George is Vice President of Revenue Cycle for Premier<br />
Health Partners. In this role she is responsible for patient access,<br />
health information management and the business office for four<br />
hospitals: Atrium Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital -<br />
Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital, Upper Valley Medical Center and<br />
over 25 clinics and provider-based practices around the region.<br />
Renee was born and raised in Northern Kentucky. She attended the<br />
University of Kentucky and received a degree in Health<br />
Administration in 1993. Renee began her career in health care<br />
financial management at St. Joseph’s Health System in Atlanta,<br />
Georgia where she worked in managed care contracting. While in Atlanta, Renee<br />
joined the Georgia Chapter of HFMA, and she received her MBA from Georgia State<br />
University.<br />
Renee moved to Cincinnati in 2001 as the manager of Managed Care Contract<br />
Variance and Underpayments for Mercy Health Partners and later assumed roles as<br />
Patient <strong>Financial</strong> Services Director and Vice President of Revenue Cycle. In October<br />
2008 she moved to her current position at Premier Health Partners. Renee joined the<br />
Southwestern Chapter of HFMA when she returned to the Greater Cincinnati area.<br />
Renee values the continuing education programs to stay current on emerging topics in<br />
a very dynamic healthcare market and networking with her fellow health care<br />
financial professionals. Renee and her husband Jim have been married for 14 years<br />
and have two daughters, Allison 9 and Vivian 6. Renee and Jim live in Springboro<br />
and enjoy cooking and biking on the Little Miami Bike Trail with their children.<br />

The Christ Hospital<br />
Description: Assist the Director of<br />
Reimbursement in ensuring<br />
appropriate reimbursement from all<br />
government payer sources, preparing<br />
required governmental reimbursement<br />
reporting, including cost reports and<br />
HCAP reporting, and analyzing data<br />
for preparation of monthly third party<br />
A/R payer estimates.<br />
Education: Bachelor's degree in<br />
Business Administration or Finance<br />
Experience: 5-8 years experience in<br />
Hospital reimbursement and possess<br />
extensive knowledge of Medicare and<br />
Ohio Medicaid reimbursement rules<br />
and regulations. Medicare cost report<br />
software experience required. CPA<br />
