even better, Munich-based <strong>Wirecard</strong> <strong>Bank</strong> <strong>AG</strong> has now combined its prepaid<br />

card products under a single brand. Whe<strong>the</strong>r it is <strong>the</strong> free virtual Mastercard<br />

for convenient shopping on <strong>the</strong> Web or <strong>the</strong> unpersonalized mywirecard<br />

2go Visa used at points <strong>of</strong> sale, under <strong>the</strong> mywirecard brand name,<br />

customers demands are met.<br />

Consumers have a choice between <strong>two</strong> prepaid cards available in different<br />

versions: <strong>the</strong> mywirecard 2go Visa and <strong>the</strong> mywirecard Mastercard.<br />

mywirecard 2go Visa is a non-personalized card that is handled like eMoney.<br />

It enables anonymous shopping and is also an excellent choice as a<br />

gift card; mywirecard 2go Visa is available at service stations and kiosks<br />

throughout Germany. A single top up <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> mywirecard 2go Visa directly at<br />

<strong>the</strong> time <strong>of</strong> purchase is free <strong>of</strong> charge and doesn’t require <strong>the</strong> disclosure <strong>of</strong><br />

personal data; if a mywirecard 2go Visa is activated via SMS or <strong>the</strong> Internet,<br />

<strong>the</strong> amount paid in is available immediately. If users want a card to be<br />

activated for fur<strong>the</strong>r topping-up, <strong>the</strong>y register by entering some personal<br />

data and can <strong>the</strong>n top up <strong>the</strong> card as <strong>of</strong>ten as <strong>the</strong>y like, subject to a charge.<br />

The virtual mywirecard Mastercard was designed for people who don’t<br />

have a credit card or who don’t wish to use <strong>the</strong>ir conventional credit cards<br />

on <strong>the</strong> Internet. Online registration at www.mywirecard.com takes seconds.<br />

As soon as <strong>the</strong> card reflects a credit balance, <strong>the</strong> user is given all <strong>the</strong> card<br />

data required for shopping on <strong>the</strong> Web, i.e. a card number, an expiration<br />

date and a card verification code. When <strong>the</strong> amount paid in has been<br />

spent, <strong>the</strong> account can be topped up again and again. A real plus is that,<br />

although <strong>the</strong> mywirecard-Mastercard is a virtual product, <strong>the</strong> card can be<br />

topped up with cash at a POS.<br />

If <strong>the</strong> transaction volume with mywirecard 2go Visa or mywirecard Mastercard<br />

exceeds 2,500 euros per annum, an identity check via <strong>the</strong> PostIdent<br />

procedure is necessary.<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir given product registration status. As well top ups are extremely convenient<br />

for both products: cash or card deposits can be made at a POS or<br />

well. Unlike with conventional credit cards, thanks to <strong>the</strong> prepaid function<br />

expense or effort: <strong>the</strong>re is no need to integrate yet ano<strong>the</strong>r payment service.<br />
