CONDITIONS OF BUSINESSCare is taken to ensure that any statements as to authorship, attribution, origin, age, date,provenance and condition are reliable and accurate, but all such statements are statementsof opinion and are not to be taken as statements or representations of fact. Hansons reservethe right, in forming their opinion, to consult and rely upon any expert or authority reasonablyconsidered by them to be reliable.1. The BuyerThe highest bidder to be the buyer. If any dispute arises, the auctioneer shall have absolutediscretion to settle it and to put any disputed lot up again for sale.2. PaymentImmediately on the fall of the hammer, all lots shall be at the sole risk and expense of therespective purchasers, who shall, if required, give their name and address and pay a cash depositin part payment of the purchase money, in default of which the lot or lots so shall be purchasedshall be put up again and resold. Upon failure of the buyer to comply with any of the conditions,the money deposited in part payment shall be forfeited and the defaulter at the sale shall makegood any loss arising from the re-sale together with the charges and expenses in respect of bothsales.3. Collection of GoodsAll goods must be paid for and collected on the day of the sale. Storage charges will be incurredat a cost of £1 per lot per day. Purchased lots will only be released provided you have a Hansonsinvoice, stamped ‘paid’.4. Buyer’s PremiumThe buyer shall pay the hammer price together with a buyer’s premium at the rate of 17.5% plusVAT. Please note that there is a minimum lot charge of £5.00.5. Loss or DamageAll buyers must check their purchases prior to departure from the auction. Hansons will acceptno claims for loss or damage thereafter.6. Buyer IdentificationBuyers are requested to furnish references in advance of the sale in order to avoid delay inclearing purchases. Goods will not be cleared until such references have been processed orcheques cleared.7. Third Party LiabilityEvery person at Hansons Auctions shall be deemed to be there at his own risk. He shall haveno claim against Hansons in respect to any accident which may occur or injury, damage or losshowsoever caused.8. Rights of AdmissionThe right is reserved to refuse admission to the auction premises and may be used by Hansonswithout giving a reason.9. Selling RateLots are sold at approximately 120 lots an hour.10. Online BiddingHansons Auctioneers Ltd offer an online bidding service via the-saleroom.com for bidders whocannot attend the sale. Hanson’s Buyer’s Premium is adjusted to 22.5% for successful purchases.In completing the bidder registration on www.the-saleroom.com and providing your credit carddetails and unless alternative arrangements are agreed with Hansons Auctioneers Ltd:1. Authorise Hansons Auctioneers Ltd, if they so wish, to charge the credit card given in part orfull payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased in the auction viathe-saleroom.com, and2. Confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to Hansons AuctioneersLtd through www.the-saleroom.com and agree that Hansons Auctioneers Ltd are entitled toship the goods to the card holder name and card holder address provided in fulfilment of thesale.Please note that any lots purchased via the-saleroom.com live auction service will be subject toan additional 5% commission charge + VAT at the rate imposed on the hammer price (22.5%plus VAT).95
