We’d like to welcome you to our first bull sale. We’ve been selling bulls for over 20 

years, but by popular demand, here we are in the auction business. It’s an exciting time in 

the cattle production business because we are in uncharted territory with the cost of land, 

cattle and inputs at record levels. 

The cattle business has become far more dependent on the management & efficiencies in 

farming, the cowherd as well as the feedlot. With higher feed costs, and the price of top 

quality calves, buying a quality herd bull has become even more important to the cattle producers’ 

bottom line. DBL Inc has a bull battery that addresses those efficiencies with balanced 

numbers in growth, mothering traits, birth weights as well as marbling and rib eye area 

predictability. We have had the opportunity in the past 25 years to effectively build what 

we think is one of the best commercial cow herds in Nebraska with balance in our herd bulls 

and constant “hand picking” of our replacement heifers. We have several cows that are now 

6-7 generations within our herd and own only a handful of nonraised cows. Collecting years 

of records and monitoring the sibling’s performance from the pasture to the feedlot and on to 

the packing house, has given us the added advantage to be able to put total trust in buying 

our bull-buyers calves.

Bulls have been examined by a Veterinarian and health certificates 

will be issued for shipment outside of Nebraska 

�� All bulls are ready to go to pasture upon pick up or delivery. 

We can tag and brand them if needed. 

�� Bulls may be kept at DBL till April 1st free of charge. 

After April 1st a $3/day charge will occur until picked up or 

delivered.

Growing our bulls is something we take pride in. Keeping them out 

of confined areas and letting them exercise is an important management 

tool. The yearling bulls are sorted off 220 head of bull calves 

each year. They are fed a 43% mgcal growing ration. The ration includes 

a mixture of distillers grain, earlage, alfalfa hay and a protein 

supplement, as well as free choice mineral.
