The 2011 APA Jack & Jill Championship (Event) will take placeApril 27 - 29, during the APA National Singles Championships.Registration will take place Wednesday, April 27 from 8:00 am –Noon. The Finals will be held on Friday, April 29, at approximately4:30 pm.2. This is a Preregistered Event. You must have entered and paid the entryfee prior to the deadline of March 15, 2011.3. Teams entering this Event can only be male/female teams, with a totalcombined Skill Level limit of 10.4. Players may only participate on one team.5. Players cannot be NSC 8-Ball or 9-Ball participants.6. Each player must have at least twenty actual APA League match scoresin the 8-Ball format to participate.7. You must be on an active (Spring Session) APA roster in the 8-Ballformat or on a Jack & Jill Division roster.8. APA rules apply.9. The Entry Fee is $100 per team. There will be norefunds to entrants who are disqualified for any reason,including no-shows.10. The Event is a modified single elimination tournament.Maximum field is 256. (Size of board will bebased on number of entries.)11. Matches are played according to an APA Jack & JillChampionship Handicap Race Chart provided at theEvent.12. Players alternate shots, not turns.13. One coaching time-out per team, per game, is allowed.14. Table fee is $1.00 per game.15. There is an enforced dress code. Any player that the APA considersinappropriately dressed will be asked to change.16. In order to conduct a fair and equal tournament for all APA players, APAmust ensure that all participants are playing at skill levels that are notbelow their true ability. Accordingly, the APA may disqualify any team if,in APA’s sole judgment and absolute discretion, one (1) or more of itsplayers are deemed by APA to be playing at a skill level below their trueability. The determination of whether a player is playing at a skill levelbelow his or her true ability is necessarily subjective; APA is the solejudge of a player’s ability and may make such a determination in itsabsolute judgment and discretion.17. Any player entering or participating under fraudulent circumstances willbe disqualified.18. APA has the absolute and final authority to make all rulings affectingparticipation in the APA Preregistered Championship programs, includingplayer ability (i.e., correction of skill levels) and disqualification.Disqualification from this event for any reason will mean forfeiture of alltitles, awards, prize money, and minimum two year suspension from theLeague. Disqualification can occur prior to, during, or after the Event.19. The APA has the authority, at its sole discretion, to make modificationsto the rules, format or any other aspect of the Event.20. Release of APA and Tournament Sponsors: I, the participant, being oflawful age, as inducement for and in consideration of the agreement by<strong>American</strong> <strong>Poolplayers</strong> <strong>Association</strong>, Inc. (APA), that I may take part in thisEvent, hereby covenant and agree that the APA and all other sponsorsand their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents(collectively Releasees) shall not be liable for any damages arising frompersonal injuries, including death, and/or damage to property that I maysustain in any way which result from or arise out of my preparation foror any participation in the Event. I hereby fully and forever release anddischarge and covenant not to sue Releasees from any and all claims,demands, damages, rights of action or causes of action, present orfuture, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated, or unanticipated,resulting from or arising out of my preparation for orparticipation in the Event. I acknowledge and agree thatparticipation in the Event may involve the risk of suchpersonal injury, including death, and/or damage toproperty, and I hereby assume full responsibility for anyrisk of such personal injury, including death and damageto property. I warrant that I am in good health and haveno physical condition that would prevent me from participatingin the Event. I further agree for myself, my successors,heirs, assigns, executors and administrators toindemnify and hold Releasees harmless from and againstall claims and suits for personal injuries, including death, and damageto property, real or personal, caused by my act or omission and arisingout of my involvement in the Event, and from all judgments and costsrecovered in said claims and suits, and from all expenses incurred indefending said claims or suits. This Release is intended to be as broadand inclusive as permitted by law, and if any portion is held invalid, thebalance shall continue in full legal force and effect. This Release shallbe binding on my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns. I haveread and fully understand the above Release.21. Recording and Reproduction: I consent to the taping (audio and video),and/or photographing of my participation in this Event, and grant theAPA and all other sponsors the right to use and reproduce my name,voice, and likeness in any and all photographs and video reproductionstaken or made of myself for any purpose whatsoever. I release the APAand all other sponsors, their employees, agents, successors and assignsfrom any liability whatsoever for such use and reproduction of my name,voice, and likeness. I agree that the photographs, videos and any soundtracks taken or made of me are the exclusive property of the APA and/orall other sponsors, and I waive any right of inspection or review.22. If this Event is cancelled for any reason, I understand that my onlyremedy is a refund of my entry fee.TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION • PAYOUT • RULES AND REGULATIONS■ You must be a current APA member to registerfor any tournament.■ All participants must have ten (10) actualLeague scores in one format within the last twoyears (either 8-Ball or 9-Ball). (5 scores in 8-Ball &5 scores in 9-Ball will not be considered 10 scores.)■ If a player has the required 10 scores in8-Ball they may participate in a 9-Ball MiniManiaEvent, however their skill level will be raised onelevel. (8-Ball skill level is a 4, the 9-Ball skill level isa 5, except skill level 7’s must compete as 9’s).■ A player with the 10 required scores in9-Ball may participate in an 8-Ball MiniMania Event,however their skill level will be raised one level(9-Ball skill level is a 4, the 8-Ball skill level is a 5.)■ If a player has 10 scores—but not within thepast two years—in either format they will have toplay at one skill level higher than their establishedskill level.■ In order to conduct a fair and equal tournamentfor all APA players, APA must ensure that all participantsare playing at skill levels that are not belowtheir true ability. Handicap manipulation compromisesthe fairness and integrity of tournament playand cannot be tolerated. Accordingly, APA maydisqualify any player if, in APA’s sole judgment andabsolute discretion, the player is deemed by APA tobe playing at a skill level below his/her true ability.The determination of whether a player is playing at askill level below his/her true ability is necessarilysubjective; APA is the sole judge of a player’s abilityand may make such a determination in its absolutejudgment and discretion.■ Your current APA membership card is required.Any player who does not have a membership cardmay obtain a temporary card at the MiniManiaControl Table for $5.00.■ There is a 24-hour event registration window.■ Photo identification is required during play andagain at cash payout.■ Only the person entering an event may register.No one may register for you. NO EXCEPTIONS.■ Both partners must be present to register forany Doubles event.■ You will have only a 15-minute grace periodafter your match is called or you will forfeit.■ You will have up to 15 minutes prior to theevent to be able to sell your entry. NO EXCEPTIONS.All sales must be made through the MiniManiacontrol table.■ All tournaments are Single Elimination.■ All tournaments are 100% payback of entryfees. Winnings must be collected prior to the closeof MiniMania on Saturday, early morning or they willbe forfeited.■ All APA rules are in effect at all times.■ Dress code will be enforced.■ NO GAMBLING!■ No refunds of entry fees.■ $1.00 Table per game.■ All MiniMania events are cash only.
