We'velearned that the best way to achieveeven heat distribution is to useelements that deliver more heat tothe top and bottom of the kiln tocompensate for heat lost through thelid and floor.Bartlett Control: This proven digitalcontrol is conveniently mounted onthe kiln, spaced off the kiln gutter tocreate a desirable, cool operatingenvironment. Large kilns have 2 or 3thermocouples for multi-zone control.Wall and floor mount options are alsoavailable.Body: Euclid top loading kilns are builtwith 3” insulating brick throughout orbacked by 1” board on the sides*. If you normally fire up and down without soaking, consider singlewall construction; energy use to cone 6 is about the same, cool-down possibilities are more flexible (quicker natural cooling orcontrolled cooling using the Bartlett control) and kiln cost is lower. If you fire crystal glazes or soak for other reasons at hightemperature, double wall kiln construction* may result in lower costs over the life of the kiln. Modifications to standard Euclid kilndesign such as: custom diameter or height; custom voltage; plug-in sections; controller type; dual-kiln control; overtemp back-up;and more - are all possible.
