Director’s CornerDear Members and Friends,As I write th<strong>is</strong> (here <strong>in</strong> mid-March), we are still th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g w<strong>in</strong>ter m<strong>is</strong>sed us! I’m pretty happy aboutthat s<strong>in</strong>ce so far we have not had to cancel services or activities for wea<strong>the</strong>r related events! That’s afirst, I do believe. Your grass may even be start<strong>in</strong>g to grow! Hooray!St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone, and our St. Patrick’s Lunch was a fun day once aga<strong>in</strong>. Ourlocal judges jo<strong>in</strong>ed us for music from Changel<strong>in</strong>g, Ir<strong>is</strong>h storytell<strong>in</strong>g by Steve Hollen, and that leprechaunhimself, Rich Whalen, who was full O’ <strong>the</strong> blarney as usual. Thanks to all!! It was truly agood day! Th<strong>is</strong> event <strong>is</strong> co-sponsored by Oakwood Village.<strong>Senior</strong> Day will be com<strong>in</strong>g up soon, Tuesday, May 15 at <strong>the</strong> Hollenbeck Bayley Center 100 S. Limestone St. (nextto <strong>the</strong> Kuss Auditorium) with music beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g at 11:30. As <strong>in</strong> prior years, we present awards to Clark County’s MostOutstand<strong>in</strong>g <strong>Senior</strong>s. It’s a great lunch, great enterta<strong>in</strong>ment, and great door prizes. We will also have <strong>the</strong> RSVP supergrocery raffle which <strong>is</strong> generously donated by Heartland of <strong>Spr<strong>in</strong>g</strong>field and will be award<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Grand Prize <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>irraffle, which <strong>is</strong> a flatscreen TV (donated by Oakwood) --wow! Income Tax service provided by tra<strong>in</strong>ed volunteers--<strong>the</strong> absolute last day to have <strong>the</strong>m help you with yourtaxes <strong>is</strong> Friday, April 13. If you want to assure your taxes are filed <strong>in</strong> time, <strong>the</strong> service <strong>is</strong> available until <strong>the</strong>n, on Mondays,Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, from 10:00-3:00, and <strong>is</strong> designed to provide tax preparation ass<strong>is</strong>tance for low<strong>in</strong>come and elderly as a free service (donations welcome).Remember <strong>the</strong> Columbus Zoo v<strong>is</strong>it last June?
