Director’s CornerDear Members and Friends,As I write this (here in mid-March), we are still thinking winter missed us! I’m pretty happy aboutthat since so far we have not had to cancel services or activities for weather related events! That’s afirst, I do believe. Your grass may even be starting to grow! Hooray!St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone, and our St. Patrick’s Lunch was a fun day once again. Ourlocal judges joined us for music from Changeling, Irish storytelling by Steve Hollen, and that leprechaunhimself, Rich Whalen, who was full O’ the blarney as usual. Thanks to all!! It was truly agood day! This event is co-sponsored by Oakwood Village.Senior Day will be coming up soon, Tuesday, May 15 at the Hollenbeck Bayley Center 100 S. Limestone St. (nextto the Kuss Auditorium) with music beginning at 11:30. As in prior years, we present awards to Clark County’s MostOutstanding Seniors. It’s a great lunch, great entertainment, and great door prizes. We will also have the RSVP supergrocery raffle which is generously donated by Heartland of Springfield and will be awarding the Grand Prize in theirraffle, which is a flatscreen TV (donated by Oakwood) --wow! Raffle tickets are just $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.The prizes are getting better every year! Tickets ($6) for the lunch go on sale on Monday, April 25, so you’ll haveplenty of time to pick yours up.V.I.T.A. Income Tax service provided by trained volunteers--the absolute last day to have them help you with yourtaxes is Friday, April 13.
