Our MissionTo protect and improvewater quality in the BigThompson RiverWatershed throughcollaborative, monitoring, assessment, educationand restorationprograms….

COOP Monitoring Program• 15 (historically 20) flowing water sites are included in thisprogram (natural flowing waterbodies and canals).• Samples are collected 10x year, monthly, February- November.• Three extra nutrient samples also collected at 5 sites; May,June, July.• Canals are flowing water sites associated with the Colorado BigThompson Project (C-BT) and are now monitored by NorthernWater.• Forum partners monitor the major lakes and reservoirs in thewatershed: Boyd, Carter, Estes, Horseshoe, Horsetooth &Loveland.• 27 chemistry parameters & 5 physical parameters are collectedby USGS at each site in addition instantaneous dischargemeasurements.

Volunteer Monitoring Program• 12 flowing water sites are included in this program to address gapsin the Forum's Cooperative Monitoring and Assessment Program andwaters east of I-25.• Samples collected 8x year, monthly, April – November.• 10 Volunteers and BTWF staff conduct all field work.• USEPA 8 WQL does all analyses.• 26 chemistry parameters & 5 physical parameters are collected ateach site.• QAPP with USEPA 8 and WQL directs monitoring.
