Remembering the little champion with a big heart
Sam Abbott, our son, lost his battle against leukemia after a very
long three-and-a-half years.
For those people who met him, to others that knew of him, I can tell
you as a parent I couldn t be prouder to have had him come into our
lives for a short eight years.
Sam s courage, strength and generosity were his main strengths,
and his cheeky and charming traits made him a very special little
boy with one very big heart.
On behalf of my family, Mel my wonderful wife and Tayla my
princess, we wish to thank all the staff at Sir David Longland that
helped and supported us, and cared enough to allow me to be with
Sam and my family during these past years.
I also wish to thank all the other centres throughout Queensland
Corrections for their support and goodwill during Sam s journey.
Rob Abbott
Sir David Longland Correctional Centre
Custodial Correctional Officer
Brought from Angels from above
you came, you saw,
you conquered all,
we light a candle
just to show the other stars
how bright you glow.
