For more than 100 years the Army Reserve has provided trained and ready
Soldiers and units with the critical combat service support and combat support
capabilities necessary to support nation’s strategy during peacetime, contingencies
and war. The Army Reserve is a key element in The Army multi-component
unit force, training with Active and National Guard units to ensure all three components
work as a fully integrated team. Since September 11, 2001, the Army
Reserve has mobilized more than 163,000 Soldiers in support of the Global War
on Terror, making it the largest call-up in our history. In the past year, the Army
Reserve has transformed the organizational structure of the force in order to
align with the concept of an operational reserve. This is a departure from that of
a strategic reserve, a concept of the past. The Army Reserve exhibit focuses on
the new Army Reserve Employer Partnership Program and the 100th Anniversary
of the organization.
