There will be at least 2 projects per semester. Most of the work will be done in class. However, any project work not completed in class will be need to be completed athome. At least one of these projects will be a power point presentation on animportant historical topic which the student will present to the class. One of the projects in the second semester will be a research paper on MedievalEurope. All major tests will contain a variety of styles of questions including but not limited totrue/false, multiple choice, short answer, essay, fill in the blank, and completion of amap. All major tests will be announced at least 4 school days beforehand. I do my very bestnot to give Monday tests, but sometimes it may be unavoidable.Students will read one historical fiction book in the second half of the semester. Theydo not need to purchase this. Classroom sets are provided.I will not assign a great deal of homework. Any class work not completed during classtime is expected to be finished at home. However, I strongly recommend that studentsreview each day’s lessons at home. There is a great deal of content in this class andwaiting until the night before the test to study is not advised! In studying for tests, the students are encouraged to spend most of their time studyingthe power point notes. Virtually all of the test questions will come from informationon the power point notes.Make up work is always a challenge. I place most of the responsibility for make up workon the students. All handouts/materials are put in the back shelf of the classroom sothat any student who has missed any work can go to the back shelf and get his/herwork.Teaching StrategiesPower point presentations, instructional videos, web quests, articles, review games, puzzles, small group activities.Materials1 inch 3 ring binder1 pack of colored pencils
