The shares are listed on the SWX SwissExchange and the New York Stock Exchange.Adecco S.A.'s consolidated financial statements have been prepared and presented in accordancewith U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (U.S. GAAP), rather than the internationalaccounting standards adopted pursuant to the procedure of Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1606/2002.Please note that there may have been material differences in the financial information had Regulation(EC) No 1606/2002 been applied to the historical financial information, and a description of thedifferences are set out on pages F-A to F-C under the heading Description of Differences betweenIFRS and US GAAP.The Company delivers a broad range of flexible staffing, employment and career services to corporateclients and qualified associates worldwide, through a network of over 6,600 branches and 33,000 fulltimeequivalent employees in over 70 countries and territories across North and South America,Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa. The Group's main services include temporary staffing,permanent placement, project staffing and solutions, consulting and outsourcing.In 2005, these services were marketed, offered and managed through three main Divisions: AdeccoStaffing—focused upon temporary assignments and permanent placement across wide rangingindustrial sectors; Ajilon Professional—focused upon temporary and permanent placement andoutsourced solutions, especially in IT, engineering and finance; and LHH Career Services—providingoutplacement and human resource consulting for companies in transition across most industry sectors.In January 2006, the division structure was replaced by a geographical structure combined with newlyintroduced business lines through which the Company's main services will now be marketed andmanaged: Adecco Finance & Legal; Adecco Engineering & Technical; Adecco Information Technology;Adecco Medical & Science; Adecco Sales, Marketing & Events; and Adecco Human Capital Solutions.The Company's national country heads will continue to manage directly the industrial and office staffingbusiness, while supporting the expansion of and driving efficiency across the global business lines atthe country level.The Group comprises numerous legal entities around the world, mainly organised along the divisionalstructure.Service linesRevenues and gross profits derived from temporary staffing totalled 94 per cent. and 81 per cent. in2005, respectively, compared to 94 per cent. and 83 per cent. in 2004, respectively. Temporary staffingbillings are generally negotiated and invoiced on an hourly basis. Temporary associates record thehours they have worked and these hours, at the rate agreed with the customer, are then accumulatedand billed according to the agreed terms. Temporary staffing service revenues are recognised uponrendering of the service. The temporary associate is paid the net hourly amount after statutorydeductions on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
