In 1960, when theconstruction of <strong>Buckhorn</strong> <strong>Lake</strong> began, Bowlingtown hadto be abandoned and families relocated. The restaurant isnamed in their honor.Today’s lodge sits on the hill where the original log cabinschoolhouse was built in early the 1800’s, replaced by a whiteframe schoolhouse in early the 1900’s.
