Initial Eligibility Guidelines for Freshman Admission, 2009-2010Important datesWe recommend that students apply to USF early in the fallsemester <strong>of</strong> their senior year. Freshman applicants whoapply by March 1 will be given priority in admission to Summerand Fall 2010 semesters.USF Undergraduate Admissions PersonnelThis chart is intended to help you determine which <strong>of</strong> your students might be the best fit for USF andoutlines the initial academic <strong>guide</strong>lines slated to be in effect from October 1, 2009 through March1, 2010 for regular freshman admission to USF. Please note that USF recalculates an academicgrade point average for admission purposes, adding weights <strong>of</strong> one point for AP, AICE, IB and dualenrollment courses and .5 for Honors in which a grade <strong>of</strong> ‘C’ or better is earned. Based on nationaland institutional research on student academic success in the first-year <strong>of</strong> college, freshmancompletion <strong>of</strong> required academic units, and notable grade trends, especially in junior and senior years<strong>of</strong> high school.
