3. Urology/Andrologya. Clinici. Proposed: one clinic per week for 12 weeks during research rotationb. Procedures prior to ICSI (TESA, MESA, PESA)i. Concurrent with 2ai or 2aii4. Researcha. Formulation of a research hypothesis and development of a study protocol/design(basic and clinical) relating to reproductive endocrine and infertility. The goal of theresearch block is to present at national/international meetings and submit the researchfor publication in peer review journals.i. 40 weeks in duration. Research will be done concurrent with 2 days per month inthe OR and I week in 3 of ART, the Urology rotation, a half a day per week ofindependent assessment of REI patients in clinic, and one half-day of researchclinic per week (TCART and the Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute)5. Surgical Skillsa. Endoscopic and open surgical cases with an emphasis on cases related to the practiceof REI. Operative laparoscopic surgery, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy,myomectomy and fertility promoting surgery.i. Equivalent of 2-3 days per month for two years6. Clinical Research Clinicsa. Assessment and monitoring of patients involved in clinical research protocolsi. One half-day per 2 weeks over 64 weeks (TCART)7. Biostatistics and Clinical Designs Coursea. 2 hours biweekly September 2004 to April 2005 (University of Toronto)8. Independent Assessment of REI Patients with Backup in a Clinic Settinga. ½ day per week throughout the two years (TCART)Educational Goals and Objectives for <strong>Reproductive</strong> Endocrine and Infertility Fellowship
