Inspired by his travels through Europe, Peter the Great set out to create a
grand port city–Russia’s “Window to the West”. In 1703, the first fortress was
erected on the River Neva. Neo-classical façades, domed cathedrals and baroque
residences were built along the city’s canals. By 1712, the capital was moved from
to St. Petersburg. Then Catherine the Great continued the dream, adding even
more elaborate palaces, parks and squares–all designed by French and Italian
architects. But in the face of all this opulence, social unrest grew, giving way to
Lenin’s Communist Party. This is where the revolution began… and also where it
started to collapse. Nowadays, St. Petersburg is once again at the threshold of
change, always welcoming new ideas while looking beyond for inspiration.
The Hermitage Museum is home one of the world’s greatest art collections,
though the building itself is a masterpiece. Also a must-see is Peterhof, the lavish
summer home of the Tsars. And once you’ve seen all the palaces and cathedrals
you can handle in one day, St. Petersburg’s sophisticated social scene always
keeps life interesting.

for St. Petersburg. Guests who have not purchased
a Royal Caribbean International shore excursion,
or do not possess a Russian Visa, or whose
visa is not properly supported by the proper
documentation will not be permitted ashore by
local Russian authorities. Exception to this rule
is certain nationalities that do not need a visa for
Russia (Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus,
Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Cuba, Hong Kong, Israel,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro,
Serbia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine,
Uzbekistan & Venezuela). Ship guests taking part
in a Royal Caribbean International organized group
or individual tour do not need a Russian Visa. In
order to disembark the ship every guest must
provide a valid national passport, a completed
immigration form, SeaPass card and a tour ticket
to the Immigration officers. All guests’ passports
will be scanned and stamped during the first
disembarkation. This will be a lengthy process,
and going ashore will require your cooperation
and patience, as tours may depart late as a
result.

Guests are reminded that there is no lifeguard on duty. The Solarium pool and hot tubs are an adult area only,
however, during inclement or cool weather under 16’s may use the Solarium Pool between the following hours:

to other guests, reserving of deck chairs is not permitted. Chairs left vacant for 30 minutes or longer may be
reassigned by the pool attendant to other waiting guests. Royal Caribbean is not responsible for the theft or
loss on deck chairs or other pool areas.

Helpful Health Information Norovirus – Royal Caribbean International has worked
closely with the Centers for Disease Control to enhance its shipboard cleaning
procedures to prevent the transmission of Norwalk or Norovirus . According to medical
experts, the best way to prevent colds, flu and gastrointestinal illnesses is to wash
one’s hands thoroughly with soap and hot water after using the bathroom as well as
before eating .

Those guests 17 years of age and under who are not accompanied by an adult must
be clear of all public areas by 1:00 am each evening unless involved in an Adventure
Ocean® activity / Teen activity . For further guidance please refer to the Guest Conduct
Policy which can be found in the Cruise Services Directory in your stateroom .
Smoking Policy – To improve our guests’ cruise vacation experience we have
designated the following smoking areas: Casino Royale (Deck 5), Cigar Bar/Library,
Deck 7 after 9:00 pm, Stateroom balconies, Open deck areas on the starboard side
(right hand side of the ship facing forward) Decks 5, 9 & 10
Please Note – Due to our positioning, satellite outage will occur at times . This
will affect several services, including internet, telephone, ATM machines and TV
broadcasting . We apologize for any inconvenience .
Pools & Whirlpools – Due to public health regulations, children in diapers, swim
diapers, pull-ups and those who are not completely toilet trained are not allowed in
the pools or whirlpools . All jacuzzis and the Solarium pool area are for guests 16 years
and older only . Children under the age of 16 are however allowed in the Solarium pool
area, accompanied by a parent/adult from noon – 2:00 pm & from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
during inclement weather only .
