Ordersfor this book may be placed through ourbookstore by phoning (217)732-3168, ext.2224. It will be available in print form fromCollege Press and in electronic form fromLOGOS Research Systems (Bellingham,Washington). Please see the followingendorsements of Dr. Lowery'sbook on Revelation:Dr. Lowery conducts us deeply into the symphonythat is Revelation. His wise guidance helps us hearthe music coming from the throne room. Thisdeepens our devotion. And then we are drawn toworship in ways that are practical, pastoral andevangelistic–just as the Lamb leads. I can't wait tohear volumes two and three! – Tony Twist, PhD,D.Min., President, TCM InternationalInstitute, Heiligenkreuz, AustriaPopular level guides to the Book of Revelationabound, but most of them either insist that the lastbook of the Bible is a road map of current events or12a source for reconstructing first-century history only. Lowery avoids both of thesepitfalls and deftly leads the lay person or college undergraduate down a safe pathto interpretive sanity. Enjoyably written andpeppered with personal illustrations, Lowery sets thestage for what he hopes will be two more volumes onthe Apocalypse: a brief commentary and an analysisof some of the more disputed exegetical andhermeneutical issues not touched on in thisintroduction. [This is] a welcome addition to acrowded field and one which clearly stands out fromthe crowd! – Craig L. Blomberg (Ph.D.),Distinguished Professor of New Testament,Denver Seminary, Littleton, COFor over twenty-five years I have been inspired bythe teaching, scholarship, and passion of Dr.Robert Lowery. In fact, I still turn to him forBiblical insights, understanding, and accurateapplication. He approaches one of the mostintimidating books of Scripture with the precisionof a surgeon and the love and concern of a closefriend. Your intellect will be stretched, yourassumptions challenged, and your soul infusedwith new hope. – Gene Appel, Lead Pastor,Willow Creek Community Church, SouthBarrington, IL
Good NewsGroundbreaking ceremonies for the new women's dorm included the digging of the first hole. Two of the participants, Sue Rogers (3rd on left) and Sally Miller (center), were among<strong>Lincoln</strong>'s very first occupants of the current women's residence hall in 1963.Good News<strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> College and Seminary's future has neverlooked brighter. Over the last seven years under the leadership ofPresident Keith H. Ray we have repeatedly demonstrated goodstewardship of our resources. The old operational debt continuesto be paid down, and our modest endowment continues to grow.Campus improvements have created our best learning environmentto date.We have experienced significant growth and are nearing 1,300students. Best news of all, we have doubled our preachingand mission majors. We are in awe of what the Lord hasaccomplished in such a short time. The next ten years will be even more exciting. Our new visionand plan, <strong>Lincoln</strong> 2015, brings new challenges. <strong>Lincoln</strong> 2015 isthe most aggressive growth plan to date.Challenging NewsWe have nearly reached our maximum capacity and potentialwhere some of our facilities are concerned. Our unprecedentedgrowth comes with a price tag. Without increased facilities wewill have to cap enrollment, and this means turning studentsaway who desire to train for ministry.13The SolutionTo continue to increase the number of servants for the Church,we must build a new dormitory and additional classrooms. Our first project is the new dormitory, and construction hasalready begun. When funds are available, we will then start constructionon the new Seminary building. At that time, our existingSeminary building, Restoration Hall, will be remodeled forcollege classrooms. You or your church or Sunday School class can be part of thesolution by providing for one the following projects. Gifts of$500 or more to either of these buildings will be recognizedon a donor appreciation wall in the building you choose tosupport. It would be deeply appreciated if you and/or yourSunday school class and/or your church could provide for oneof the following, and if you like, we will acknowledge your giftwith a plaque at the entrance to a room.In the dorm:Furnish a bedroom $1,000Provide a bedroom $5,000 *Provide a suite $50,000 *In the Seminary building:Provide a faculty office $25,000 *Provide a classroom $100,000*Can be given over a five year period.Perhaps there is a family loved one or a church leader for whomyou have great appreciation and whom you would like tohonor. Your family or church name, engraved on a plaque, could be a testimony to those who pass through our hallsfor years to come that you stood with us in the ministry andmission of <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> College and Seminary. Will you carefully consider how you can be a part of thelegacy of <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> College and Seminary?
