The program provides immense opportunity to economicallybackward youth of south Odisha which caters to the needs of employability and self-sustainability of the unemployedyouth. They are trained on courses like:1. Basic Computer Skills2. Computerized DTP3. Electronics Repair & Maintenance4. Computer Maintenance5. Repair of Electrical Appliances6. Workshop PracticeThe 4 months duration course was from 7 th February to 17 thMay 2010. Besides their regular courses, the students are also trained in English and Soft Skills. Prof. SangramMudali, Director, NIST along with other faculty members distributed the certificates to the qualifying students onthe valedictory function. The institute, apart from imparting training, assists the students in getting jobs and thisyear the placement for these students was above 60% including job offers from the host institute. The program iscoordinated by Mr. Asesh Kumar Tripathy, Faculty, CSE.• Ms. Sanjukta Mohapatra, Faculty, Dept. ofManagement Studies, has been certifiedas a ‘AIMA (All India ManagementAssociation) Accredited ManagementTeacher’. She presented on the topic,Kinesics in Grooming & Etiquette, underthe area, General Management (Soft Skills) at AIMA,New Delhi, organized by AIMA Accredited Board. Tobag this credit, Ms. Mohapatra went through a rigorousselection process where her performance was evaluatedLaurels for NIST Facultyby both internal (AIMA) Director & Professor fromthe respective area) and external (2 members fromcorporate) members.
