The facility is currently under construction on a 5 acre tract of land justnorth of the main entrance of Sugarmill Woods on US19.Once complete, <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> Healthcare Center at Sugarmill Woods will providestate-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services including x-ray, ultrasound, digitalmammography, bone density, mobile CT scan and MRI. Additionally, rehabilitationservices such as physical and aquatic therapy will be available along with a walk-inclinic, laboratory draw station, blood bank and pre-admission testing for patientsundergoing outpatient surgery at <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong>. The offices of Tim Peterson, MD andCarolyn Bautista, ARNP are currently located at the location and will be integrated intothe expanded medical services facility upon completion next fall.Many members of the Homosassa community, along with <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> employeesand members of the <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> Health Foundation Board of Directors were inattendance for the landmark ceremony. President and CEO Ryan Beaty welcomed thecrowd and expressed that <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> was supporting its mission of “improving thehealth and quality of life of the people and communities we serve” by expanding intoSouthwestern <strong>Citrus</strong> County, an area in critical need of nearby advanced medicalservices.Before plunging their gold and green shovels into the soft dirt, Board member SandraChadwick thanked those in attendance claiming that “while we are just breaking ground,today is far from the beginning of this project. We are all part of an amazing history ofcaring for <strong>Citrus</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong>.”-more-
