As you may know by now,the PHC Board of Trusteeshas decided to make somesignificant new personnelchanges for Patrick HenryCollege—changes that I thinkare a very positive step forwardfor the College and its mission. The Board voted to changeMichael Farrismy title to Chancellor of PatrickHenry College. This means that a search committee ofthe trustees has been formed to find a new president forPHC.Normally a college of this size does not have both aPresident and a Chancellor. But normally a college of thissize is 100 years old and is not trying to grow by 400%over the next twenty years and build twenty or more newbuildings in this time frame. But in this and so manyother ways, PHC is not content with being a normalcollege. In our drive to become the leading evangelicalChristian college in the nation, I have essentially two tasksat the moment, both of which are overwhelming. I haveTheTrumpetofLibertyLetter from the Presidentthe task of building the College, and I have the duty torun the College. Truth be told, running the College istaking such an increasing share of my time that I have hadto put the task of building the College into a secondaryplace, resulting in lost opportunities to do the incrediblyimportant work of building PHC.This of course does not represent a change in thedirection of PHC in the slightest. Our mission remainsthe same. My duties as Chancellor will concentrate onfund-raising, board of trustee relations, media relations, public speaking, writing, and, of course, teachingconstitutional law and coaching our moot court team.It is an unbelievably big job to build a college fromscratch. I am very thankful that you stand with me in thisimportant effort.Thank you for the role you play in the success ofPatrick Henry College. I look forward to having theopportunity to get to know you better.Sincerely,Email Update DriveIn an effort to stay connectedwith friends and supportersof PHC through emailmessages, we are updatingthe PHC database.
