The small, round plastic canister attaches directly to the facepiece. Thesystem is designed to permit downward head movement.The Chin-Type Gas Mask is designed for respiratory protection against a specificgas or group of gases as indicated by canister identification. See the canistertable for specific canister approvals. From a practical standpoint, gas masks aregenerally suitable for ventilated areas with relatively stable contaminantconcentration levels. They should never be used in confined spaces or whereoxygen deficiency and high gaseous concentrations may occur. Gas masks mayalso be used for escape only from atmospheres in which the contaminantconcentration does not exceed the maximum use condition of the gas mask.FacepiecesWhether you choose the Advantage4000, Advantage 3100, Ultravue orUltra Elite facepiece, all four areavailable in three sizes toaccommodate a wide range of users.The Advantage 3100 facepiece has asilicone rubber facepiece, while theAdvantage 4000, Ultravue and UltraElite facepieces are available in a choiceof silicone or Hycar rubber. All have ascratch-resistant polycarbonate lensthat provides a wide field of vision.Optional lens cover accessories provideeven greater scratch resistance. Allthree facepieces feature a nosecup thathelps reduce lens fogging in lowtemperature conditions or in highhumidityconditions.Belt-Mounted VersionThe belt-mounted version of the Chin-Type GasMask allows the wearer to mount the chinstylecanister on a support belt. This shifts theweight of the canister to the hip, providinggreater comfort for some wearers. The beltmountedversion is also recommended forwelding or grinding operations, as the canistercan be positioned away from sparks or moltenmetal.
