Appaloosa stallionsmay be nominated prior to the breeding year for $200; during the breeding year for $300;or until Aug. 1st, the year after breeding for $600. Nominations in the ApHC office beforeSeptember 1st will be listed in the November issue of Appaloosa Journal.MARE OWNERS: When you breed your mares to a Breeders’ Trust participating stallion,your foals will have an advantage from the moment they are born. From yearlings throughtheir fifth year, every national point earned (excluding Equitation, Showmanship, Novice andYouth) will be worth cash, increasing the value of the foal.FOAL OWNERS: If you had the foresight to breed your mare to a Breeders’ Trust participatingstallion, take the second step and nominate your foals NOW!! All foals must be registeredwith the ApHC before they are nominated. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!!

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS1. Eligibility:A. Appaloosa stallions available for breeding during the coming breeding seasonmust be nominated to the Appaloosa Breeders’ Trust in order for foals conceivedduring that breeding season to be eligible for participation in the incentivefund program. Enrollment will be accepted until August 1 st the year after thebreeding year. Nominations are annual. Payment is due at the time of nominationand stallions must be nominated for each successive breeding season. Ownersand nominator must be current members of the ApHC.B. Foals sired by stallions nominated to the Appaloosa Breeders’ Trust may benominated any time through their five-year-old year. If a foal is not registered withinthe Calendar year in which the nomination fee is paid, the nomination fee willbe returned minus a $20.00 office charge. The application will need to bere-submitted with the correct fee once the foal is registered. National points arenot counted until the foal is officially nominated, meeting all requirements andpaying all fees.The date the nomination is received in the ApHC office is thestart of eligibility.Only foals sired by stallions enrolled in the Breeders’ Trustprogram are eligible to participate.2. Nomination FeesA. Annual Stallion Fee:Prior to the breeding year $ 200.00During the breeding year $ 300.00Until August 1st of the year after the breeding year $ 600.00No portion of the nomination fee is refundable once the stallion is enrolled, exceptin the unlikely event that the stallion dies prior to breeding any mares during thatseason. Should this occur, the nomination fee will be refunded.B. Foal Nomination Fee:Weanling out of an Appaloosa dam $ 100.00Weanling out of an non-Appaloosa dam $ 150.00Yearling $ 200.00Two-Year-Old $ 400.00Three-Year-Old $ 800.00Four and Five-Year-Olds $1,000.003. The ApHC will hold all funds paid into the Appaloosa Breeders’ Trust in an interestbearing account with earned interest added back to the fund. The ApHC may deductadministrative costs for the program from gross proceeds not to exceed 5%.4. All disputes arising out of the application or interpretation of any rules or conditionsof the Appaloosa Breeders’ Trust shall be decided by the ApHC.5. The ApHC will publish a list of nominated stallions in the November through Aprilissues of Appaloosa Journal. The ApHC will have as part of a stallion’s permanentrecord, the stallion’s eligibility status in the Appaloosa Breeders’ Trust.6. The ApHC reserves the right to alter conditions of all or part of the AppaloosaBreeders’ Trust in its sole discretion to insure fairness and equality of all participants.Further at its sole discretion, the ApHC may cancel the program at any timeand refund money if it deems participation is insufficient to justify the program.7. Fees received from nominations will be used to convert points earned at ApHC -approved shows by nominated foals into premium money. The total of all pointsearned at ApHC -approved shows in Open and Non-Pro classes excluding equitation,showmanship, novice and youth, by horses nominated to the AppaloosaBreeders’ Trust for a given year will be divided into the total fees available for thatparticular foal crop to arrive at a dollar amount per point. The dollar amount perpoint will be multiplied by the points earned to calculate total earnings per foal.A. The payout will be divided as follows: 5% to the nominator of the foal, 10%to the stallion owner and the remaining 85% to the owner/lessee of the point earningfoal on record with the ApHC at the time the points were earned.B. Calculations of winnings shall be based on the official show records of theApHC as of December 31st of the show year in which the points were earned andpending verification of all results by January 31st of the following year.Subsequent correction of show results for any reason shall not affect calculationsof winnings. All winnings are subject to Internal Revenue Service rules and regulationspertaining to withholding of tax and the report of earnings. 1099’s will beissued to the first recorded owner on record with the ApHC at the time the pointswere earned.
