<strong>Profile</strong> – <strong>Bob</strong> <strong>Parker</strong>Can you tell us a little about yourself?I am 58 years of age and teach metal fabrication at both our Apprentice Trade School in Bendigo,Australia and a prison about 50km from here.Explain a little about drug-free powerlifting.A sport that I thoroughly enjoy and have done so for 30 years.What are your best lifts?260kg squat equipped, 150kg bench, 270kg deadlift.What titles do you hold or have held?Various state national and world titles, in my age and weight category.What records do you hold or have held?Unequipped squat 205kg, World Record.What is your training regime?3 times a week, heavy on each lift on a rotational basis.30 years.How long have you been powerlifting?How important are training partners to you?Couldn’t survive without John Clow and Ross Knight.What made you become a powerlifter?Always interested in strength activities.What is your favourite assistance exercise?Military Press (helps my bench).Training when injured.What is the biggest mistake that beginners make?What is your advice for beginners?Do lots of reps on light weights to build up a good base to avoid injuries.What are some of your most memorable powerlifting experiences?Competing at a World event.What is the craziest thing you ever seen in powerlifting?Australian lifter head butting the bar until he drew blood.What are your future goals?To keep training and remain injury free.
