NCW Program Office (NCWPO)• Ensure the development of capability is linked to the ADF’sstrategic guidance and operational concepts for NCW.• Support Tactical Information Exchange (TIE) integration andproject integration into the Network Centric Warfare (NCW)framework.• Current activities:– Provide an ADF NCW Architecture for CapabilityDevelopment and Acquisition processes.– With the Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG) to ensurethe provision of technical Standards to support integration.– Implementation of a NCW Compliance Process for DefenceCapability Plan (DCP) and Minor projects.– Develop the NCW Roadmap and Integration Plan.


Chief Information Officer Group(CIOG)• Capability Manager for the Defence InformationEnvironment (DIE);• Develop Policies, doctrine and procedures forInformation Management (IM);• Spectrum management services.


Tactical Information ExchangeIntegration Office (TIE IO)• Responsible for monitoring and enforcing conformance with theChief Information Officer’s (CIO) TIE policies and standards.• Through the <strong>Australian</strong> Defence Force Tactical Data LinkAuthority (ADFTA) provide a single point of contact for technicaland procedural Tactical Data Link (TDL) expertise, including;– Engineering and Policy Support,– Interoperability and Interoperability Assurance (Implementation),– Test and Compliance,– Operational Support, and– Training.• Through ADFTA performs a coordinating role for TDL integrationand implementation across the Services & Defence MaterielOrganisation (DMO).


TIEIO - Acquisition Projects• JP2089 - Tactical Information Exchange Domain.– Intended to deliver tactical data links to legacy platforms andcapabilities of the ADF and the infrastructure required to supporttactical data exchange at the force level.• JP2098 - Joint Combined Training Capability.– A combined <strong>Australian</strong> / US initiative designed to enhance high-endbilateral training, increase and measure operational capability,improve interoperability, and facilitate capability development.• Land 146 Ph 2B – Combat Identification.– Land 146 is a multi-phased project that is intended to acquire andintroduce a Combat Identification (CID) capability that enhancesthe operational effectiveness of ADF Land Force elements, whileminimising the risk of fratricide.
