Secretary. Although the Flip societyis by no means of a secret order, it isperhaps advisable that the names ofits members are withqeld from thepublic. Six charter members werepresent. The society moved a vote·of censure against one of the Mowgliswho had started an opposition Flipsociety at the very door of the _SocietyClub house. The President declaredthe objects of the Society 1st, to beflip on all occasions ; 2nd, to remainflip as long as possible.It was also moved by one memberand seconP.ed by another that licenses,be granted to charter members,and that one of their !number be appointedto examine these licensesevery, Saturday nightL reversal oflicenses to be granted only by unanimousvote of the society~ This wascarried. After a stirring initiationthe "Flippers" adjourned. Oppositionis expected from similarsocieties in the Den-but the cavehas a very strong body of memberslicensed to be flip and the President.is daily adding to its numbers.A small and select gathering tookplace at the Jungle on Saturdayevening in spite of the weather.Mr. Olds the host gave a most uniqueentertainment. The principal eventof the evening was the display of avery fine collection of old china.After this was duly admired . andhandled by the visitors the host ledthe way througp. the dining roomwhere a much appreciated luncheonwas served.The host was attired in a tired'smile and a pineapple clip. MissSpud Foster wore a very becomingrubber apron. Miss .. Knott, betterknown to her friends as ''Kidney,''looked fetching with white linenbands on her hands and feet. MissMorse of the Roger Morse familylooked unusually striking. MissEllie Thayer had her hair arrangedin her usual attractive manner. Thewhole a:f£:air was delightful. · Many.guests were invited but failed tocome on account of the weather.WILLIAM SA VILLE.Cup NightThis is the night when the boyswho have won cups receive them atthe Camp-fire. This year they weregiven out in the Club house with acamp-fire in the fire-place. , Therewere the · usual number of guestswith us, also Redcroft. The firstevent was the raising of a very largeand handsome new flag, presented tothe Camp by Endicott Putnam. Ata signal from the bugle, the flag wasraised and guests joined the boysin singing ''My Country 'tis ofThee," cheers ·were given for Mrs.Putnam and for Endicott Putnam.The flag was then lowered and thelantern sent up.Then came the exercises in theClub house, and the cups wereawarded as follows:Crew Cups Brough, Crowell, S.Thurber, P.
