More than 100 staff attended the awards ceremony at the education centre, WycombeHospital with Trust chief executive Anne Eden and chairman Graham Ellis making the presentations.Clean and safe hospitalsawardMichelle Thiel, generalmaintenance manager, wonthe award for herdedication to keeping ourhospitals safe and reliablefor patients and staffalike. Michelle wasdelighted to have won. “It Michelle Thielwas a complete surpriseto me because I was nominated by one of myclosest colleagues. I was shocked that hemanaged to keep it a secret! It has made mefeel that I am truly part of a very special teamwhich goes the extra mile every day.”Respect for your time awardMaureen Ooi,specialistmidwife wasthe winner ofthis category.Receiving heraward shesaid: “I feelvery humbledby thisMaureen Ooi with Juliet Brownaward, and I would also like to mention theother staff who deserve praise and recognitionfor their hard work during the merger of womenand children’s services”.Helpful and respectful attitude awardLillian Hunter, a midwife at Wycombe Hospital was chosen for thisaward.
