2010-11 Retirees & Honorees<strong>Grandview</strong> C-4 School District proudly recognized the 2010-11 DistrictHonorees (Teacher of the Year, Support Employee of the Year and Volunteerof the Year) and Retirees at the <strong>2011</strong> Employee Recognition Program heldon Tuesday, April 12, at the View Community Center in <strong>Grandview</strong>. The DistrictHonorees were Katie Roe (Teacher of the Year-<strong>Grandview</strong> High), Jennifer Bolin(Support Employee of the Year-Martin City K-8) and Kim Palmer (Volunteer of theYear-Martin City K-8). District Honorees received special recognition and an awardhonoring their exceptional performance. The event included a special instrumental andvocal performance by <strong>Grandview</strong> High School band and music students and wasemceed by GHS teachers Amy Cameron and Adam Smith.Each Retiree received a commemorative bell award and was recognized fortheir total years of education service (including GC-4 service time). More than3,200 students, across the country,participated in the event.The GHS Debate & Forensicsteam (led by GHS teacher KenYunker) has been represented ateach of the last nine NFL NationalTournaments (one of only fiveschools within their qualifyingdistrict to achieve this). The NFL,www.nflonline.org, mission is topromote high school & middleschool speech & debate activitiesas a means to develop a student’sessential life skills and values.4
