AnyWireConnectivityCorinex GPON-BPL GatewayCorinex Communications has pioneered a high-speed,low-cost hybrid network to deliver broadband services bycombining the high bandwidth of Gigabit Passive OpticalNetworking (GPON) with the low cost of Broadband overPower Line (BPL). GPON technology delivers broadband tothe node (Fiber to the Node/Curb) and BPL technologydelivers the connectivity to the home over Low Voltagepower lines. This GPON-BPL hybrid network enables theprovision of triple play services to homes at a fraction of thecost other technologies, including Fiber to the Home (FTTH)and DSL.GPON-BPL networks allow Carriers to effectively addressnew markets, countries and cities where there is no ownedinfrastructure available for residential services. The use of BPLtechnology for the last few hundred meters ensures fastdeployment in contrast to FTTH where the last hundredmeters costly and slow to deploy. The GPON-BPL Gatewaydelivers up to 80 Mbps (shared) to all customers connected tothe device over the low voltage lines, with the Plug and PlayCorinex AV200 Powerline Ethernet CPE (any version)terminating the signal within the home.Key Benefits•Cost-effective Networks of this nature can not only bedeployed quickly but also at a fraction of the cost of FTTHPON-DSL.•Innovative Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) solution forhigh-speed broadband services with a possible migrationto FTTH in the future.•Simple Design Uniquely integrated BPL-PON Solutionthat minimizes network complexity and the amount ofnetwork elements.•Full service coverage Networks can be dimensioned foranything between basic broadband connectivity anduptake of triple-play services.•Fast Time to Revenue The elimination of the bulk of thecable deployment time (copper or fiber) allows forsimple, fast and automated service provisioning and areduction in customer acquisition costs.•Highly Satisfied Customers Elimination of the need toenter homes ensures customers can be up and runningimmediately and without taking time off work waiting forcontractors to deploy their service. The primary reason to deploy GPON-BPL is for deliveringhigh bandwidth, low cost broadband services to homes andbusinesses. GPON-BPL delivers the best performance to costratio as it is a fraction of the cost of FTTH (22-33%) whiledelivering sufficient bandwidth for triple play services.GPON-BPL also delivers more bandwidth than DSL at a lowercost (55%-70%). GPON-BPL also gives CLECs the ability toinvest in their own assets in contrast to paying the Incumbentmonthly ULL fees which give no benefit to the CLEC after themonth is over.GPON-BPL is 22% - 33% cost of FTTHGPON-BPL is 55% - 70% cost of DSLOptical FiberBackhaulMDUOpticalSplitter1:16/32≤ 80Mbps≤ 80MbpsMDUCentralOffice≤ 80Mbps≤ 80MbpsFTTC ConnectionLV PowerlinesHomesCorinex GPON-BPL GatewayHomesV ideo, V o ice a nd Broadba nd Connect i v ity Solut ions
