Mary Jane Constant is in Credit Risk Management at Syncora Guarantee Inc., a bond insurance company. She is<br />
responsible <strong>for</strong> working out distressed bonds that Syncora insures. Mary Jane has an MBA from <strong>Columbia</strong><br />
(Executive Program 2009) and a JD from NYU School of Law (1993). Mary Jane began her career at a law firm<br />
working on a broad range of corporate finance transactions, including IPOs, high yield debt, project finance and<br />
securitizations. At Syncora, Mary Jane has worked on municipal finance transactions, project finance and<br />
securitizations. Mary Jane also worked with Peace Corps in the Philippines.<br />
Adam Goldsmith is a Corporate and Business Development professional at Bloomberg L.P, where he has held<br />
various positions <strong>for</strong> over 13 years. In his current role he is responsible <strong>for</strong> M&A deal origination, transaction<br />
execution, strategic partnerships and strategy <strong>for</strong>mulation. Working with all businesses within the Financial<br />
Products division at Bloomberg, Adam pursues acquisition and partnership opportunities, and helps direct their<br />
strategic product development. Adam’s career has included roles in sales management, product development<br />
and organizational structure and resource allocation. Adam has a BA from Colgate <strong>University</strong> (’97) and an MBA<br />
from <strong>Columbia</strong> Business School (’09) having attended the executive program.<br />
Mehul Patel is a successful inventor, entrepreneur and senior leader involved in the technology and finance<br />
industries. With over 17 years of extensive experience in Imaging Technology, throughout his career, Mehul has<br />
consistently proven to be an asset to his employing organization in the area of engineering management and<br />
intellectual property. As a leading inventor in the field of Imaging Technology, he holds over fifty-one issued<br />
U.S. Patents and has over <strong>for</strong>ty-five U.S. Patents still pending. He also holds over fifteen International Patents.<br />
As a thought leader, he has presented technical papers at various worldwide conferences organized by SPIE,<br />
Symbol Technologies, Danaher, and Honeywell. He was also an invited speaker at the Horasis Global India<br />
Business Meeting, Madrid, June 2010 where he discussed his views on the impact of Globalization on local<br />
economies.<br />
Mehul is a founding member of the Board of Directors <strong>for</strong> Vantage Point Bank; a denovo bank in Pennsylvania.<br />
As a member of Asset Allocation and CRM committees he monitors bank risk and asset investment portfolios<br />
and contributes to establishing long-term strategic vision of the Bank. Mehul also serves as an Advisory Board<br />
Member <strong>for</strong> Photonica Inc.; a next generation display Technology Company. As an early investor in technology<br />
incubators, Mehul provides angel funding <strong>for</strong> technology companies to develop prototypes of new technology.
<strong>for</strong> <strong>Undergraduates</strong><br />
Presently, Mehul is employed as Vice President of Engineering at Kavo Dental Imaging (division of Danaher<br />
Corp). In this role, Mehul is responsible <strong>for</strong> leading the engineering organizations of Gendex, Dexis and Imaging<br />
Sciences. He oversees all R&D ef<strong>for</strong>ts and new product development <strong>for</strong> all three companies.<br />
Prior to joining Danaher, Mehul was hired by Francisco Partners as part of a senior management team<br />
assembled to execute the turnaround of Metrologic (an Auto-Identification company recently acquired by FP).<br />
As VP of Engineering, Mehul successfully lead the development and commercialization of Metrologic’s<br />
innovative auto-identification products. He oversaw all R&D and new product design ef<strong>for</strong>ts and managed U.S.<br />
and China based engineering teams. In less than two years, the company was sold to Honeywell with<br />
approximately 200% return on investment <strong>for</strong> FP.<br />
Mehul has also held positions as Director of Engineering at Accu-Sort Systems where he managed the hardware,<br />
mechanical, and optical groups while serving as key architect <strong>for</strong> the creation of their next generation products;<br />
Director of Advanced Development at Symbol Technologies, Inc. where he was instrumental in establishing the<br />
company’s introductory line of imager-based scanning products and oversaw the development of advanced<br />
barcode decoding algorithms. During his employment at Symbol Technologies, Mehul re-located to Japan and<br />
lead a joint R&D team between Symbol and Olympus Optical Co (Tokyo, Japan) to develop and mass-produce an<br />
imaging based hand held barcode reader.<br />
Mr. Patel holds an M.B.A from <strong>Columbia</strong> <strong>University</strong>, NY. He has also earned both his B.S. and M.S. in Electronics<br />
Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology as an Honors Fellow in the B.S./M.S. Honors Program.<br />
On a personal level, one of his passions is to give back to society and he believes that education is the most<br />
important gift a person can give him/herself. To further this cause, Mehul established a charitable foundation<br />
called the Gnaan Daan Foundation, which provides education related expenses (tuition, books, uni<strong>for</strong>ms,<br />
supplies) to those children who may not otherwise have access to education due to financial restraints. This<br />
foundation has been in existence <strong>for</strong> over 7 years and has supported over 800 students. Mehul has recently<br />
taken up skiing and lives in Bucks County, PA with his wife and two sons.
