Cressida <strong>Toon</strong><br />

ARB registered architect 1997, RIBA member<br />
Before forming <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> Architects with Gary <strong>and</strong> Kerstin, Cressida spent seven<br />
years at Nightingale Associates Ltd, followed by two years at RTKL UK, London. She has<br />
spent the majority of her career working in the field of healthcare architecture <strong>and</strong> has been<br />
involved in the design of large PFI hospitals, community projects <strong>and</strong> mental health facilities.<br />
She has expertise in strategic planning <strong>and</strong> has guided several Hospital Trusts through the<br />
difficult process of developing robust Development Control Plans & Estates Strategies.<br />
Kerstin <strong>Sonnemann</strong><br />

Born: 1966<br />
ARB registered architect 1998, RIBA member<br />
Following six years of practice on residential, commercial <strong>and</strong> healthcare schemes<br />
in Germany, Kerstin moved to the UK in 1996. After initially working on Town <strong>and</strong><br />
Masterplanning schemes for Civic Design Partnerships, she returned to healthcare<br />
design when joining Nightingale Associates Ltd for four years. Before founding<br />
<strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> Architects with Cressida <strong>and</strong> Gary, she carried out freelance work on a<br />
number of residential projects for Orefelt Associates Ltd, London. Her specialist expertise<br />
includes: healthcare planning, intensive care ward design, fast track projects, urban<br />
design, master planning & graphic design.<br />
Gary <strong>Toon</strong><br />

Born: 1966<br />
ARB registered architect 1993, RIBA member<br />
Gary is a UK registered architect with over twenty years of practice experience covering<br />
acute, primary <strong>and</strong> mental healthcare design, commercial offices, data centres <strong>and</strong><br />
residential schemes. Schemes have been completed for public sector <strong>and</strong> private clients<br />
through traditional, design & build, PFI <strong>and</strong> LIFT procurement methods <strong>and</strong> have been<br />
both new build <strong>and</strong> refurbishments including within Listed properties. Complex buildings<br />
with high levels of integrated engineering services within dem<strong>and</strong>ing environments<br />
characterises much of Gary’s project experience. This forms the backbone of his<br />
expertise as lead consultant <strong>and</strong> lead designer that has guided many clients through the<br />
often difficult process of developing robust built solutions, development control plans &<br />
estates strategies.<br />

Anna-Marie Lutterodt<br />
Architect<br />

Anna-Marie commenced her architectural studies at Plymouth <strong>and</strong> completed her<br />
diploma at the Bartlett in London in 2004 <strong>and</strong> Part III in 2006. The majority of her practice<br />
experience has been working on healthcare projects. Since joining <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong><br />
Architects in February 2008, Anna worked on the refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed<br />
building for the London Oncology Clinic at 97 Harley Street <strong>and</strong> has been project<br />
architect on a similar extension <strong>and</strong> refurbishment at 102 Harley Street. She has also run<br />
the contract for the Learning Disabilities Interim Unit at the East London NHS Foundation<br />
Trust’s medium secure site in Hackney <strong>and</strong> more recently a succession of schemes for<br />
private clients <strong>and</strong> l<strong>and</strong>lords.<br />
David Wright<br />
Architectural Assistant<br />

David qualified as an architect in South Africa where he worked for 4 years. His<br />
experience ranges from urban design schemes within the Eastern Cape to medium <strong>and</strong><br />
larger scale educational, commercial <strong>and</strong> residential projects for Cape Town’s oldest<br />
practice. He relocated to the UK in 2009 <strong>and</strong> now has significant UK experience. At<br />
<strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> he has worked on large NHS projects as well as fast track private<br />
healthcare fitouts.<br />
João Diogo<br />
Architect<br />
BA (Hons) Arch Int. DipArch MArch RIBA<br />
Joao has worked for over 10 years in the design <strong>and</strong> construction industry, mainly on<br />
large scale new developments both in the UK <strong>and</strong> abroad. UK Projects included the North<br />
Liverpool Academy, the University of Northumbria Newcastle – City Campus East <strong>and</strong> the<br />
British Library Archive in Boston Spa. He has particular skills in managing the coordination<br />
of information for large projects with a particularly keen eye for architectural detail. Since<br />
starting at <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> in April 2010, Joao has been lead architect on a £22M<br />
polyclinic in Coventry through the detailed design <strong>and</strong> production information stage.<br />

Jonathan Holt<br />
Associate<br />
BA (Hons) DipArch<br />
Jonathan commenced his architectural studies at Oxford Brookes University, moving<br />
on to complete his diploma at the Bartlett. Following two years as an Architectural<br />
Assistant at Farrell’s office in London, he joined <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> in November 2008. He<br />
has since been instrumental to the design of a number of our healthcare <strong>and</strong> residential<br />
projects, leading the refurbishment of CRI, a Grade 2 listed building at St Mary’s,<br />
Paddington, <strong>and</strong> the 5000m 2 BHV Medical Centre in Bedford. In 2010 Jonathan gained<br />
his part 3 qualification <strong>and</strong> started in the role of Project Architect for the extension <strong>and</strong><br />
refurbishment of a commercial building at 26/28 Hallam Street to convert it to luxury flats.<br />
In November 2011 Jonathan was promoted to the role of Associate Partner.<br />
Ricardo Reis<br />
Architect<br />
DipArch (TU Lisbon)<br />
Ricardo studied in Lisbon before moving to the UK where he registered as an<br />
architect in 2004.<br />
He has extensive project experience in the fields of hospitality <strong>and</strong> private residential. He<br />
has particular skills in heritage work <strong>and</strong> construction detailing. Since Ricardo joined us<br />
in April 2010, he has worked on key packages for some of our largest schemes as well<br />
as taking the design lead on some of our Harley Street projects.<br />
Roisin Feeney<br />
Architect<br />
BArch (Hons) PG DipArch<br />
Roisin received her architectural education at the Dublin Institute of Technology receiving<br />
a honours degree in 2007. After working in both Hong Kong <strong>and</strong> London she spent 4<br />
years with the Office of Public Works in Irel<strong>and</strong> where she completed her professional<br />
diploma with the Royal Institute of Architects.<br />
Roisin has also recently completed a post graduate diploma in Marketing <strong>and</strong><br />
Management <strong>and</strong> has developed a specialism in br<strong>and</strong>ing through architectural design.<br />
She joined <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> Architects in 2012<br />

Tim Bennett<br />
Architectural Assistant<br />

Tim began his architectural studies in The University of Lincoln, completing his<br />
Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Westminster in July 2011.<br />
His previous experience whilst working for a large commercial practice was<br />
predominately in bespoke residential dwellings <strong>and</strong> large commercial retail <strong>and</strong> public<br />
projects. Tim spent two years working on a dem<strong>and</strong>ing <strong>and</strong> complex residential<br />
project from conception to final completion <strong>and</strong> was responsible for the delivery <strong>and</strong><br />
management of construction information for the project.<br />
In 2007 Tim was shortlisted for the RIBA Bronze Medal <strong>and</strong> has since picked up<br />
numerous awards for his Undergraduate <strong>and</strong> Diploma projects.<br />
Timothy Crone<br />
Architect<br />
BSc BA(Hons) MArch PgDip RIBA<br />
Completed his undergraduate studies in 2005 before commencing his masters back at<br />
the University of Dundee.<br />
In between his degrees he worked at James F Stephen Architects for a year. During this<br />
period he worked mainly on small scale residential refurb projects <strong>and</strong> a PPP bid for<br />
Aberdeen Schools. He also gained experience on a large scale student accommodation<br />
scheme.<br />
After his masters he joined Grimshaw Architects where he spent three <strong>and</strong> a half years<br />
working on a mixture of large infrastructure <strong>and</strong> transport projects. Notably helping<br />
to successfully deliver Newport Rail station in time for the 2010 Ryder Cup. He also<br />
gained experience on Heathrow Terminal 2 Concourse B seeing various aspects <strong>and</strong><br />
stages of work on this project. He also worked closely with Sir Nicholas Grimshaw on a<br />
competition bid which was highly commended by the other <strong>partner</strong>s.<br />
He joined <strong>Sonnemann</strong> <strong>Toon</strong> Architects in January 2012 <strong>and</strong> is currently working as an<br />
Architect on various bids.<br />
