EYES. The far-seeing expression<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> eye is dependent onposition, shape and angle. Thecolor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> iris is dark, and <strong>the</strong>eyes should be small withoutbeing piercing or button-like.Light eyes or round eyes areundesirable.EARS. The tip <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ear shouldbe nearer to <strong>the</strong> center <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>skull than to <strong>the</strong> outside base.In addition, <strong>the</strong> ears are slightlyhooded in that <strong>the</strong> tips aredirected more forward than <strong>the</strong>base. The orifice is to <strong>the</strong> front,cupped ra<strong>the</strong>r than opened flat.It is <strong>the</strong> high set <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ears and <strong>the</strong> pricking forward whenalerted that produces <strong>the</strong> fine wrinkle and quizzical expression sotypical <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Basenji</strong>.
