Institutional Standing Committees<br />
Following is a representative listing of committees which conduct a significant amount of <strong>University</strong> business. Students interested in serving on any committee should contact<br />
the Student Senate.<br />
Athletic Committee<br />
Purpose: To advise DSU administration on all major decisions affecting the administration of the Athletic Department.<br />
Composition: Faculty-4, Staff-7, Students-3, Coaches-2, Alumni-2 Meetings: At least 4 times per year.<br />
Bookstore Users Committee<br />
Purpose: To advise the Director of the Bookstore regarding the Bookstore’s operating goals and procedures.<br />
Composition: Faculty-2, Staff-2, Students-2. Meetings: At least once per semester.<br />
CQI Leadership Committee<br />
Purpose: The CQI Leadership Committee supports and encourages the campus community to engage in quality improvment activities.<br />
Composition: Faculty-4, Staff-6, Students-1<br />
Curriculum Committee<br />
Purpose: To engage in a continuous study of <strong>University</strong> curricula and ensure that the standards and recommendations of the accreditation agencies are followed.<br />
Composition: Faculty-7, Staff-2, Students-1. Meetings: Monthly as established.<br />
General Activity Fee Allocations Committee<br />
Purpose: To recommend policy and procedures for the GAF and to accomplish the allocation of General Activity Fee income.<br />
Composition: Faculty-3, Staff-2, Students-6. Meetings: Monthly.<br />
Institutional Effectiveness Committee<br />
Purpose: Fulfills an advisory, monitoring, coordinating and regulatory role at DSU in planning and assessment matters and advises the President on the implementation and<br />
evaluation of the DSU Strategic Plan and all aspects of institutional assessment.<br />
Composition: Faculty - 7, Staff - 23, Students - 2<br />
Library Committee<br />
Purpose: To recommend budgeting of Library funds and to assist the Librarian in formulating general policies which govern the functions of the Library.<br />
Composition: Faculty-3, Staff-1, Students-2. Meetings: As necessary.<br />
Parking Committee<br />
Purpose: To recommend policy governing the parking program and hear appeals of parking violations.<br />
Composition: Faculty-3, Staff-6, Students-3. Meetings: As necessary.<br />
Professional Education Council<br />
Purpose: Defines and governs the Professional Educational Unit, assuring that the mission and programs of the unit are achieved in an organized, unified, representative, and<br />
coordinated fashion.<br />
Composition: Faculty-8, Staff-3, Students-1, Other-4.<br />
Risk Management Committee<br />
Purpose: To develop and implement policies pertaining to risk management issues on the campus.<br />
Composition: Faculty-1, Staff-7; Students-1.<br />
Student Admissions Committee<br />
Purpose: To recommend policy regarding standards for admission of students and to hear and decide requests for conditional admission and for readmissions.<br />
Composition: Faculty-4, Staff-2. Meetings: As necessary.<br />
<strong>University</strong> Code of Conduct Board<br />
Purpose: To hear cases of alleged violations of Student Conduct Regulations.<br />
Composition: Faculty-6, Staff-1, Students-6. Meetings: As necessary.<br />
<strong>University</strong> Club Funding Committee<br />
Purpose: Allocates vending funds to recognized student organizations and monitors the use of funds through review of monthly reports submitted by club treasurers.<br />
Composition: Faculty-2, Staff-3, Students-6<br />
Note; The reps can be faculty, but don’t have to be (ie, the dean can be the dept. rep.)<br />
