QR Codes - What Are They?
QR Codes are specific barcodes, readable by
QR barcode readers and app-enabled camera
phones, which directly connect your cell phone
to a specific link or information. The black and
white square patterns can be seen in a number
of different places including newspapers, ads,
business cards and more. Created by Toyota in
1994, these barcodes instantly bridge the gap
between print and digital. QR, in fact, stands
for Quick Response.
QR Codes can be created instantly and for
free using a number of online generators.
There are a number of different uses for QR
Codes, the most common being an embedded
link to a webpage. Other uses include contact
information, text messages, social media links,
maps and navigation among other things.
• Send only to people who you have an
established relationship with - otherwise it’s
SPAM
• Make it easy to subscribe to your e-mail list,
include it on your website, in your e-mail
signature, on your Facebook Fan page
• Honor the unsubscribe
• Be consistent with your communications.
