Code of Conduct Step-by-step:
• In February 2009, and
exactly one year after the
launch of the Code , the
Resource Kit was disseminated
in a highly visible
event, accompanied by
a comprehensive promotional
campaign.
NGO Development Center
• By the end of 2009, more
than 500 NGOs across
the West Bank and Gaza
Strip had signed up to
the Code. This high number
reflects a high level of
awareness and maturity
among the sector on the necessity
to implement best practices.
This can also be attributed to the
participatory process in which the
Code was finalized.
• The NGO networks and unions promoted
the Code among their own
member organizations.
• Training on accountability and
transparency principles for more
than one hundred NGOs has been
provided in order to further help
them comply with the Code of
Conduct principles.
• During the year 2009, NDC conducted
various consultations with
the NGO sector and other stakeholders
to put forward a mechanism
to ensure the compliance of
the sector to the Code.
