The Look Good...Feel Better Task Force
Look Good...Feel Better has a
secret weapon when it comes to
ensuring the yearly Programme
runs smoothly and efficiently and
this is in the winning form of our
wonderful “Task Force”. Quite
simply, without the hard work of
the Task Force, the Programme
would not run.
Each Member company that supports LGFB
with beauty consultant volunteers donates the
services of one of its team to be a member of
the Task Force. This dedicated team really are
the glue that holds the Programme together,
primarily recruiting new volunteers, arranging
their training, ensuring that their volunteers can
follow the LGFB hospital rotas, and assisting
other brands when they are not able to send a
volunteer to a workshop by organising a
stand-in. In addition to this, the team are also
key to helping organise the yearly product
donations for our patient gift bags, as well
as a number of other projects that come up
each year.
We know the Task Force are incredibly proud
of the work they do to help support women
cancer patients ~ as Sarah Smith from Boots
No.7 (pictured above) says “Look Good
...Feel Better makes a real difference to the
way women feel about themselves during
cancer treatment, and Boots is very proud to
be a major supporter of the charity.”

Linsey
We thought you’d like to see the new
voice behind the ‘phones and emails in
Epsom. Linsey joined us in July, working
part-time as Assistant to Sarahjane.
Linsey has already left her mark with
her smooth, unruffled co-ordination of this
year’s Carol Concert and says
she is ready for all the new initiatives
coming our way in 2009.

talk about their role:
MANDY CLANCY, Clinique
“Prior to joining the Task Force Team in
September 2006, my previous role had been
the Clinique Business Manager at Fenwick of
Newcastle, until I discovered I had breast
cancer. It was after my recovery that I
accepted the position as Clinique Look
Good…Feel Better Co-ordinator.
During my journey I received support from so
many different people and colleagues
throughout the cosmetic industry. This is what
gave me the strength and the fighting spirit to
get through it. As a patient, part of that
recovery came from attending a LGFB
workshop. I felt fragile in the beginning, until
the volunteers got the session underway.
They quickly created an atmosphere that
helped us all feel relaxed and made sure we
all had fun. I shall never forget that day.
For every workshop, my role is to find a
volunteer and sometimes this can be required
at short notice, as volunteers occasionally
themselves cannot attend the workshop.
From my own experience I can really
appreciate the support that each volunteer
gives, and feel proud to be a member of the
Task Force Team and this great programme.
It truly is empowering what can be achieved
from a volunteer, a lipstick and a smile!”
DANIELLA BELL, Clinique
“I feel extremely honoured to be part of the
Task Force Team, who in turn work closely
with LGFB to ensure that we have passionate
and caring Consultants supporting the
workshop sessions.
Having supported several loved ones in their
fight against cancer, I am privileged to be able
to support this wonderful charity and know
that I can give something back and in doing
so can bring happiness and put a smile back
onto the faces of patients attending the
programme.”
