All told, approximately 2,400people turned in nearly two tons of expired or unwantedmedications from as far back as 1936. <strong>The</strong> street valueof controlled substances collected in Portland alone <strong>is</strong>estimated to be $57,540. <strong>The</strong> collection and proper d<strong>is</strong>posalof these drugs will greatly reduce the impact of drug abuseand improper drug d<strong>is</strong>posal on our communities and theenvironment.
