Teachers willcontinue to prepare students for those tests in reading and math. Please make sureyour child gets plenty of rest and eats a good breakfast daily! Please feel free to contact us with any questions.Team 7BSocial Studies:Girls, have you ever dreamed about your knight in shining armor? Or boys, haveyou ever dreamed about saving your princess from a burning castle? Well then, go tosocial studies with Mrs. Lombardo in room 210. Mrs. Lombardo is like a blast from thepast! We are learning about the Middle Ages--you know, with the knights, castles, andprincesses. We all think, "Like, why do we have to learn this? We won't need it in the future!"Say you go on Jeopardy or Cash Cab and the million dollar questions is, "What is one ofthe inventions the Chinese invented?" The printing press or moveable type! Most peoplelike to travel. You don't want to go to another country and not know anything about thepast. Learning gives you a broader insight of life in other places. When we finish the Middle Ages, be ready to sail to new lands and find new waterroutes because we will be studying exploration with explorers like Lewis and Clark. Maybewe could find new lands and name them after you like Christopher Columbus!7B gets lucky this month with no big projects, but we do have a chapter test onchapter 15, all about the Middle Ages. The test is going to probably be before Easter sowe all have time.Go to social studies in room 210 to get a blast from the past and be an explorer.by Faith McGee and Lauren Tommer

Language Arts:In Mrs. Culliton's language arts class, we are learning about Greasers who were the"poor," and the Socs who were the "rich" in The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. We arelearning about fun with nouns. There are many ways you can misuse a noun. Learningabout them will help us later in life for when we fill out an application and won't look likefools because we didn't know how to use a noun. The information in The Outsiders will beused in real life because it's a very well-known book and it has a lot of references to reallife. It was inspired by true events. We will have no big events except for a persuasiveessay. Mrs. Culliton's class is very exciting and fun-filled!by: Megan Loiselle and Avery SullivanMath:Kids on team 7B get to look forward to many exciting things in math. Lucky for themthere will be no big projects in this classroom. There will be a test, though. This test willbe about everything we have learned in chapter eight and what we will be studying. Thenew things that we are going to learn about are adding like terms and solving multiplicationequations. If you are planning on being an architect, then this math unit will help you a lot!by: Sierra Gockel and Cassidy KingScience:Have you ever grown plants in horse manure from the ceiling? If you want to know, Mr.Farrow's classes on Team 7B will be studying ecosystems and biomes throughout ourworld by making mini-terrariums. This will allow us to understand the changing worldaround us and how our choices will impact the environment and the creatures that live init. We will start puppet shows that show our understanding of biomes and how they work.Students will make a script and scenery to match the show.Right now we are studying symbiotic relationships between different species ofanimals. Some classes are working on commercials, websites, and videos along with acatchy jingle to further understand how symbiotic relationships can benefit animal A andanimal B. For example, the oxpecker is a bird that sits on a rhino's back and eats thebugs that live and thrive off of the bacteria and dirt on a rhino's back. Thus the oxpeckeracts like a carwash for the rhino. Are you aghast by huge chapter tests in other subjects? Lucky for everyone, wewill not be having any large chapter tests; however, we will have a medium assessment onthe exciting topic on the carbon and nitrogen cycle.by: Louis Hill and Amber WardTeam 8BIn English, students are finishing their compare and contrast essay based on the novelBless the Beast and Children.
