If you have anyqueries or difficulties at any time you should contact your OCN office.Funding for Functional Skills Pilot QualificationsPlease see the Young People’s Learning Agency or Skills Funding Agency websites for thelatest funding guidance for Functional Skills.For 16-18 year olds on a full-time programme in either a school or a college, the per pupilentitlement funding will include an element to cover access to Functional Skills.Colleges, schools and providers should record Functional Skills qualifications on theirappropriate data returns in the usual manner.Approval to Offer NOCN Qualifications or Units of NOCN QualificationsIf you are a new centre then please contact your nearest OCN office for details of the CentreRecognition Application process and the process for delivering qualifications.Support for Centres1. Your OCN will provide ongoing support and advice on the use of NOCN credit andqualifications including the requirements for assessment.2. Approval should always take place through the normal OCN processes and will beexplicitly recorded.3. All centres approved to offer NOCN credit and qualifications will be allocated a uniqueNOCN Centre Number.4. Each centre should identify a Centre Officer who will be responsible for NOCN credit andqualifications within the centre.5. The Centre Officer must ensure all procedures detailed in the NOCN Handbook operateeffectively in the centre.6. The Centre Officer is the person responsible for confirming and ensuring that the centremeets all the NOCN requirements for Centre Approval.7. The Centre Officer is responsible for ensuring all relevant NOCN documentation isdistributed as required within the centre and that the security requirements for ExternalAssessment are adhered to.20
