“Prouds” ThemesThe planning consultantsobserved that “prouds” oftenindicate the following typesof things:Character – things thatcontribute to the overallcharacter of Weston(e.g. Weston Center,undeveloped areas,natural beauty)Community – facilities andservices that contributeto the quality of life forresidents (e.g. library,emergency services,schools)Traditions – things thatcontribute to the overallfeeling in the communityand its place in timeand space (e.g. smalltown feel)What People Are Proud OfAttendees at the meeting were asked to think about things in Weston that made them“proud” of their community. They were asked to write this on a card provided and toplace a green dot on a map to locate it.
