KBCCooperative ProgramCOOPERATIVE PROGRAMAs Christians, we’ve all been commissioned by Jesus to share theGood News of His saving love with the people in our community, state, nation and world. The Cooperative Program is the foundationalelement of Kentucky Baptists’ strategy to follow this command.By pooling our resources through Cooperative Program giving,we are able to be true “Acts 1:8 congregations” and reach outsimultaneously to our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and theends of the earth. When your church gives to missions through the CooperativeProgram, you are providing key resources used to strengthen localchurches; provide crucial ministries of hope and healing; educatepastors and church leaders; support state, national and internationalmissionaries in the field and more! The Cooperative Program is the most comprehensive, efficientand effective way to reach people and support missions.“You will be my witnessesin Jerusalem, in all Judeaand Samaria, and to theends of the earth.”– Acts 1:8How Should I Give and How MuchShould I Give? The best way to support the Cooperative Program is by givingthrough your church. This way you strengthen the work to reachyour neighbors and support God’s work right where you live. The Bible tells us to tithe at least 10 percent of our income as anact of worship, and to acknowledge that all that we have is a giftfrom God. Once you give to your church, the church then sendsa portion of its undesignated gifts to the Kentucky BaptistConvention, which distributes these gifts for use in missions andministry across the globe. Every church is encouraged to budgeta minimum of 10 percent of its undesignated receipts to supportthe Cooperative Program. Those churches that give an evengreater percentage – some even to the point of sacrificial giving –are tremendously vital and deeply appreciated by all of theministries that receive Cooperative Program funding.About Missions OfferingsKentucky Baptists are also encouraged to make gifts to otherchurch-approved offerings, including the Lottie Moon ChristmasOffering for International Missions, the Annie Armstrong EasterOffering for North American Missions, and the Eliza BroadusOffering for Kentucky State Missions. Because the CooperativeProgram undergirds the day-to-day work of the organizationsthat put these offerings to work, 100 percent of the funds collectedthrough these offerings can be sent directly to the mission field.

KBCCooperative ProgramHow the Cooperative Program Works1. It begins with you as you give tithes and offerings toyour church.2. Your church designates a portion of its annual budgetto support missions through the Cooperative Program.3. Part of this is used by the Kentucky Baptist Convention tocarry out missions and ministry in Kentucky, to supportagencies and institutions such as our Baptist colleges andchildren’s homes, and to strengthen Kentucky churches.4. Another part is sent by the KBC to the Southern BaptistConvention for missions and ministries in our nationand around the world. This includes the work of theNorth American Mission Board, International MissionBoard, six seminaries, the Ethics and Religious LibertiesCommission and more!CP is More Than Giving!Your tithe makes an important difference but so do your prayersand your time. Please pray for the ministries and missions of yourchurch, and state and national conventions. And get involved inmissions first-hand! Ask your pastor about the best way to plug into the work of your church. For suggestions about ways you canbe involved in missions on a state, national and internationallevel, visit www.kybaptist.org/volunteer.Speakers BureauOne of the best ways to get your church excited about missionsand ministry is by having a speaker share firsthand.
