But the fall 2009award went not <strong>to</strong> an individual but<strong>to</strong> a worthy organization—Region 10ATPE.Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> EducationJudy Abercrombie (the sponsor <strong>of</strong> DBUATPE) said the college decided it wastime <strong>to</strong> recognize Region 10 ATPE’sspecial relationship with DBU students.She and the university local unit presidentregularly attend Region 10 ATPEmeetings.“We have developed some very closerelationships with other members,”Abercrombie says. “They are very supportive<strong>of</strong> our students, inviting them<strong>to</strong> do observations in their classroomsand sharing information with them. Inaddition, various local units have providedfinancial assistance for our localunit.
