They do this by shifting people’sperspective, something that occurs when the theatre of travel is staged ina truly innovative, unique and holistic way. Our objective is to move peoplecomfortably out of their comfort zones, since a perspective shift is moreabout challenging internal limits of daring than it is about exposing peopleto real risks or hardship. Out of your comfort zone, looking at the worldthrough a new lens - this is where magic lies and epiphanies occur.The equally daunting challenge is to design an experience that has a lastingeffect beyond its consumption, whether that lasting effect is in the form of a lifelongmemory or retention of learning - either way it is the memory that extendsthe experience over time. We have discovered that staging experiences whichresonate over time is not just about entertainment but rather about engagingall the participants in an experiential program that finds the “sweet spot” acrossfive different realms: Entertainment, Education, Activity, Environmentand Sensation.RADICAL SABBATICALS are premised upon the belief that experiential travelcan be a catalyst in truly transforming people – forcing them to alter their perspectiveto “see new things and to see old things in new ways” – thereby unlocking theircreative potential. Weemploy a unique experiential approach to travel as the bridge between the executive retreatexperience and sustainable business-related goals and as the catalyst for innovativebreakthrough thinking.RADICAL SABBATICALS FOR STUDENTS are designed for high school students involved inthe International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to allow them to pursue the researchnecessary to support their extended essays and to perform a portion of the communityservice work necessary to complete their CAS requirements.
