An increase in term work has meant Owners havereturned to the market resulting in anincrease of sales.Following on from the deepwater rigorder boom last year, we arecontinuing to see orders placed forlarger supply vessels. Althoughnewbuild prices for rigs are increasing,orders remain healthy, and as a resultwe expect shipowners to continue toreturn to yards for larger PSVs.At the lower end of the market,oversupply is still a problem withsmaller AHTS and PSVs struggling tofind buyers. Many of the modern smaller AHTS vessels were designed to find work in the MiddleEast, however charter rates in that region do not currently justify the outlay needed for a modernvessel.In the renewables sector, the USA has this Quarter pushed forward its review of development in theMid-Atlantic region, and the announcement is being seen as a milestone for the US offshore windindustry. In turn, China has also made the announcement for the construction of a 100 turbinewindfarm in the Bohai Sea, which is due to be on the grid by late 2015.1

Another large JackUp platform, for Norwegian basedowners Inwind, has just been agreed and will join the list of units now scheduled for delivery in2014. At the other end of the Newbuild scale we are seeing regular deliveries being made, with FredOlsen currently about to take on their new Bayard 4 transfer and maintenance vessel and RixShipping nearing completion on the first of their Alicat units. The North Sea market is still very muchlooking to the Round 1 and 2 O&M contracts, Round 3 projects in the UK and the larger installationsoffshore Denmark and Germany for upcoming work.The methodology that seems to be becoming a focus of some of the installation vessel Ownersfinally is that of equipment supply while working offshore.
