MORSE as itsinaugural President, J. SKINNER, as Chairman, A. de O. SALES and S.H. PANG asHonorary Secretaries General was officially established.1951 港 協 加 入 國 際 奧 委 會 和 大 英 帝 國 運 動 會 聯 會 。 港 協 更 名 為 「 香 港 業 餘 體 育 協 會 暨奧 林 匹 克 委 員 會 」。( 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 )The Federation received official recognition from the International OlympicCommittee (IOC) and British Empire Games Federation. MORSE’s retirement.1954 溫 哥 華 第 5 屆 大 英 帝 國 英 聯 邦 運 動 會 , 香 港 草 地 滾 球 隊 在 團 體 比 賽 摘 銀 。At the 5th British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, Hong Kong wonthe silver medal in the lawn bowls team event. 馬 尼 拉 第 2 屆 亞 運 會 , 香 港 的 西 維 亞 於 200 米 短 跑 摘 銅 。At the 2nd Manila Asian Games, Hong Kong sprinter Stephen XAVIER won thebronze medal in the 200m race. 沙 理 士 接 替 史 堅 拿 出 任 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 主 席 , 林 世 德 成 為 義 務 秘 書 長 。A. de O. SALES became the ASF&OC Chairman upon J. SKINNER’s departure fromHong Kong, while Omar R. SADICK became the Honorary Secretary General.1

China chose to boycott the Games and withdrew itsmembership from IOC in 1958, in protest at the IOC’s decision to accept Taiwan asmember.1958 首 次 在 香 港 主 辦 長 壽 的 體 育 節 , 推 動 全 民 體 育 。With the inaugural Festival of Sport, Hong Kong began to organise its Sport for All onan annual basis. 在 東 京 的 第 3 屆 亞 運 會 , 香 港 獲 1 銀 1 銅 。 是 年 並 參 加 卡 迪 夫 第 6 屆 大 英 帝 國 英聯 邦 運 動 會 。Hong Kong won a silver and a bronze medal at the 3 rd Tokyo Asian Games andparticipated in the 6th British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff.1962 耶 加 達 第 4 屆 亞 運 會 , 因 政 治 風 波 導 致 國 際 奧 委 會 褫 奪 該 屆 亞 運 會 名 號 。 香 港 仍派 隊 參 賽 , 獲 2 面 銀 牌 。Although IOC cancelled the sponsorship to the 4th Asian Games hosted in Jakarta dueto the absence of Israel and Taiwan on political and religious grounds, ASF&OCinsisted to continue its participation and brought home 2 silver medals. 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 派 出 運 動 員 參 加 澳 洲 珀 斯 舉 行 的 第 7 屆 大 英 帝 國 英 聯 邦 運 動 會 。ASF&OC sent a delegation to participate in the 7th British Empire andCommonwealth Games in Perth.1964 第 18 屆 東 京 奧 運 會 是 首 個 在 亞 洲 的 奧 運 會 , 奧 運 聖 火 傳 遞 首 次 經 過 香 港 。18th Olympic Games in Tokyo was the first Olympics to be held in Asia. The OlympicTorch passed through Hong Kong for the first time.1966 香 港 參 加 曼 谷 第 5 屆 亞 運 會 , 獲 1 面 銅 牌 。Hong Kong participated in the 5th Asian Games in Bangkok and brought home onebronze medal. 沙 理 士 獲 選 為 亞 運 聯 會 首 席 副 會 長 。A. de O. SALES was elected as the first Vice-President of the AGF.2

The Urban Council became alegal institution with financial autonomy and administrative independence with A. deO. Upon completion this was subsequentlyrenamed the Hong Kong Sports Institute in 1991. SADICK.1979 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 再 提 出 申 辦 1986 年 英 聯 邦 運 動 會 , 仍 遭 政 府 否 決 。ASF&OC proposed bid for the hosting the 1986 Commonwealth Games again whichwas turned down by the Hong Kong Government. 二 十 多 年 後 , 中 國 重 返 國 際 奧 委 會 。After a lapse of over two decades, China returned to the IOC sporting family.1980 灣 仔 的 伊 利 沙 伯 體 育 館 啟 用 後 , 成 為 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 與 部 分 屬 會 辦 公 總 部 。Queen Elizabeth Stadium opened and became the ASF&OC and part of its affiliatedmembers’ headquarters. 因 蘇 聯 入 侵 阿 富 汗 , 莫 斯 科 第 22 屆 奧 運 會 受 到 美 、 中 等 多 國 抵 制 , 但 港 協 暨 奧委 會 堅 持 「 政 治 與 體 育 分 離 」, 由 會 長 一 人 赴 會 , 出 席 莫 斯 科 國 際 奧 委 會 會 議 。The United States, China and a number of other countries boycotted the 22nd OlympicGames in Moscow because of the USSR’s invasion of Afghanistan. The ASF&OCPresident attended the IOC Meeting in Moscow in the belief that sports should beseparated from politics.1982 布 里 斯 班 第 12 屆 英 聯 邦 運 動 會 , 沙 理 士 榮 升 為 英 聯 邦 運 動 會 聯 會 副 會 長 。 李 鉅能 在 快 速 手 槍 射 擊 取 得 金 牌 。At the 12th Commonwealth Games held in Brisbane, A. de O. SALES became VicePresident of Commonwealth Games Federation. LEE Kui Nang Solomon won thegold medal in the Rapid Fire event. 亞 洲 奧 林 匹 克 委 員 會 成 立 , 取 代 原 來 的 亞 運 聯 會 。The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) was formally recognized as the governing bodyin Asia, replacing the Asian Games Federation. 新 德 里 第 9 屆 亞 運 會 , 香 港 獲 得 1 銀 。Hong Kong was awarded a silver medal in the 9th Asian Games in New Delhi.19835

Updated as at 16/11/2011 10:53港 主 持 「 回 歸 杯 」 足 球 賽 。7 月 3 日 , 薩 馬 蘭 奇 與 沙 理 士 就 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 回 歸 後的 安 排 簽 署 協 議 書 , 港 協 暨 奧 委 會 正 名 為 「 中 國 香 港 業 餘 體 育 協 會 暨 奧 林 匹 克 委員 會 」。To celebrate the Hong Kong handover, the HKSAR Reunification Cup was held on 1July 1997, officiated by Juan Antonio SAMARANCH, IOC President and JoãoHAVELANGE, Fédération Internationale de Football Association President. Anagreement was signed between Juan Antonio SAMARANCH and A. de O.
