For each variant, extensivemanuscript evidence is cited, and anindication is given of the relative degree ofcertainty for each textual decision. A separateapparatus provides information on majordifferences in punctuation. The Introductionand section headings are in English. Theappendices include: index of quotations (bothin OT and NT order), index of allusions andverbal parallels, list of principal manuscriptsand versions, and list of principal symbols andabbreviations. The text in this 4 th edition is thesame as in the 3 rd edition (1983). However,the selection of passages for the apparatushas undergone considerable revision.
