moment can be vibrated and increased the collision frequency between the oil andalcohol molecules by using microwave irradiation. Such principle could be applied forFAME generation in respect of increasing the transesterification reaction rate anddecreasing the reaction time. In this study, alkali was employed as catalyst and mixedwell with methanol as well as vegetable/waste cooking oil to carry outtransesterification reaction in a simple microwave system. From the experimentalresults can be found the conversion rate of 94.54% FAME from soybean oil wasobtained at operation conditions of molar ratio of alcohol and oil 6:1, power strength of100W and 9 minutes of reaction time.
