Introduction to the
Supported Living Service
We want to ensure that we provide you with
a place of change that enables you to plan
for your future. We will provide you with a
temporary home and one to one support to
help prepare you to live on your own.
About Erw Groes Family Centre
Erw Groes Family Centre is an 11 flat Project
in Holywell that provides high quality short
term / emergency accommodation for
homeless families. Erw Groes Family Centre
can accommodate vulnerable families in one
of its 11 fully furnished self contained flats
that include kitchen, lounge, bedrooms and
bathroom. There is also secure parking on
site for Residents accessing the Project.
We provide staff support during 7 days a
week in safe and secure premises, and the
opportunity to break free from a homeless
lifestyle.
How do we help you?
The type of support provided will vary
according to your specific needs however,
listed below are some examples of the type
of support we can provide.
l Staff support 365 days of the year.
l Designated support worker.
l On call system.
l Parenting advice.
l Domestic violence support.
l Welfare Benefits advice.
l Money Management.
l Advice on health care e.g. Doctor, Dentist etc.
l Drug and Alcohol advice and referral.
l Structured move on plan.
l Access to move on accommodation.
l Access to employment and training.
l Life skills advice.
Getting Involved
There are plenty of ways that you can get
involved for example the Project arranges
and delivers with the support of Residents
a range of Resident Involvement activities
such as art, gardening, fun days out, and
fundraising events.
The annual “Resfest” allows you to meet
with Residents from other Projects and
participate in a number of exciting activities
such as music,dance, sports and falconry.
How do I apply to live at
Erw Groes Family Centre?
Your family can apply to live at Erw Groes
Family Centre by contacting Flintshire
County Council‛s Homeless and Housing
Options Team on % 01352 703815 and
they will make a referral on your behalf.
Assessing Your
Support Needs
On your first visit to Erw Groes Family
Centre, we will meet with you and assess
your initial needs and risk. We do this so
that we can find out if we can meet all your
support and the best way to assist your
family during their time at the Project.
There are times when we may not be able
to accommodate you, if this turns out to be
the case, please don‛t be alarmed, as we will
explain our reasons and we will do our best
to help you find alternative accommodation.
Throughout your stay at Erw Groes Family
Centre our staff will help you to work
through an Individual Support Plan, which
will help you to achieve your short and longterm
goals and aspirations.
How much does it
cost to stay at Erw Groes
Family Centre?
Once you become a Resident, we will help
you to fill in a Housing Benefit Form so that
Housing Benefit can pay your weekly rent.
You will be asked to pay a weekly “personal
charge” to help with the cost of heating
and lighting..
