Emphasis willbe placed on counseling techniques, group dynamicsand cultural bias in the interview process. Emphasis is placed on the history ofdevelopmental disabilities, details of various disabilities,the community and institutional service delivery system,and state and federal funding systems. Additionally, thecourse will examine health, adaptive behavior, abuse andneglect issues, as well as program planning and individualsupports that contribute to greater quality of life forpersons with developmental disabilities.HUMS203HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT:DIVERSITY (3 Cr) (3:0)This course explores the interaction between the individualand the social environment. Emphasis is placed on effectsof and responses to varying forms of prejudice anddiscrimination.
