Many organisations and people within the conservation industry gaveMcKelson the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to assist her in conservationmanagement and program evaluation, in order to enhance the capacity of Australianzoos to choose and evaluate conservation programs (in situ or ex situ). She was able toeffectively evaluate each program using a number of different communication techniques,conduct several interviews with stakeholders in the programs, and spend time workingwithin the project field.Organisations and people that McKelson was not aware of were also available for herto visit and conduct interviews, which provided additional information on small projectmanagement within South East Asia. Every project member gave freely of their time,offering a diversity of opinions and much valuable information.The following site visits and meetings proved to be the most significant in providinginformation and inspiration:• Erik Meeijard, Senior Forest Ecologist, The Nature Conservancy.
